Where do you get bimmercode?
Google play store, not cheap but absolutely worth it

Thanks for reviving this discussion. Something I've been interested in eventually modifying. What's the opinion about Morimoto bulbs (https://www.theretrofitsource.com/le...ght-bulbs.html)? Are they truly better than these Amazon options? As always, I value your input Billfitz, but won't hesitate to spend more if there's a significant difference (especially with the heat/safety of these bulbs).

I don't know if Morimoto are any better. I'm skeptical. I know that Weisslicht is sourced from China, some models are identical to what you can get direct from China yourself for less than half the Weisslicht price. Despite the Japanese name Morimoto are also made in China, so any claims that they're better than Chinese bulbs are just so much marketing bull. Whatever the brand I wouldn't use a bulb that uses a fan for cooling, as that is well documented as a point of failure. Fans are required with super high output bulbs, my experience is that bulbs with a large passive heat sink have high enough output. OTOH this bulb linked above (https://www.ebay.com/itm/273898110356?ul_noapp=true) doesn't have a large heat sink, so it's not going to have significantly higher output than stock, albeit much whiter in color. You certainly can't believe their ad copy. They claim to be 100 watts, which is sheer nonsense. If they really were 100W LED they'd need a cooling fan almost as large as the ones we have on our radiators.

$149 is an outrageous price, three times what it should be. I don't see any technical details on their site that might justify it. But I'm just a lowly electrical engineer...

Why are you so against fans? Seems they would be a lot brighter and cheap enough to replace if one went out?

Bulbs without fans are bright enough. Fans are not replaceable, if one blows you have to replace the whole bulb. Why are you so unwilling to take any advice? Adios, amigo.

I'm listening just asking a question. Why are you so irritable? I’m just noticing 95% of these bulbs have fans.

New bulbs are in, super simple and look great. To the eye they look almost identical now to my headlights which is exactly what I was hoping for.

Not that anyone on this forum would need a DIY this simple, here is my video. You can see the color difference. Disregard the flicker on the camera.. ZERO flicker to the naked eye, and I coded the bulbs with bimmercode (after) anyway.

I know this can be found elsewhere on the forum, but to consolidate information here, do you mind to provide a quick rundown on the lines to change in Bimmercode for these bulbs. Thanks!
