Upgraded 335i HPFP stock EWG turbo performance numbers?

I see that there are quite a few out there with the upgraded hpfp's on stock EWG turbo. Has anyone done some performance testing, 1/4 mile, 100-200, etc. Please list if custom map, PSI, gas, etc. Thanks!

I think the only quantitative comparison you are going to see is from BMWDIYGUY. He had some dyno numbers before and after HPFP install with stock turbo and all else being equal. Saw it on another thread recently. Not many people are going to have that kind of before and after data, unless you infer or estimate performance from datalogs. In order to benefit from upgraded HPFP on stock turbo you will need a custom map. Putting on a HPFP and continuing to use a OTS map isn't really going to net you any benefit, unless you had trouble running a ethanol map with stock HPFP but can run a OTS ethanol map with the HPFP.

I believe it's the same for MHD, but I know with bm3 you can customize the stock tune and choose the upgraded XDI pumps as an option before saving the map and flashing. Support for the new Spool HPFP is coming soon as well. Granted a custom tune will always be better.

upgraded hpfp with stock turbo is not very usefull, it's more used to go full E85 with decent psi, where the stock hpfp can't handle it.

I'm not sure about that. I think the upgraded HPFP on stock turbo would be very useful. It's well documented that the stock HPFP struggles even with an E30 blend. Upgrading the fuel pump mitigates this issue and allows for higher ethanol mixes and in turn higher boost targets and advanced timing. Plus it sets you up nicely for when the stock turbo shits and is upgraded.

Not sure if I should have started a new thread or not. I have a couple of questions. My car is a 2014 FBO F33 with upgraded LPFP(stage 2). Next is am doing a LSD swap followed by the fuel system. This is where I need some help. I plan to go big boost stage 3. I was planning to do the HPFP and port injection at the same time. Should I upgrade the HPFP? Would port injection alone be sufficient? I have not have any fuel issues thus far. Thanks for any advice.

What fuel are you planning to run?

Generally speaking you should just be able to size your injectors in the port injection big enough to support your power goal (assuming you are still running DI with stock HPFP and just using PI to supplement). Upgrading the HPFP wouldn't necessarily hurt and would allow you to rely more on the DI, but should not be necessary to provide sufficient fuel if you have port injection and LPFP.

Side note, you might want to look into the EKP if you haven't already, if you are going to be pushing your stage 2 LPFP.

Blank

Everything is stock aside from the bolt ons and lpfp. What does EKP stand for? I will be running e85 during spirited run in Mexico and just 93 other times.

The EKP is basically the LPFP controller/module. Just do some searching on here or google and you will see typically issues; stock EKP sometimes cant handle the demand of aftermarket LPFP and you can fry it/the wiring.

Yeah I looked into it. Maybe in lieu of the HPFP I will do that
