Hi folks

I've a f32 with retrofitted NBT with iDrive touch (with the plugin module for VIN check and to unlock video in motion)

I've done the following:

modified the VO and writed to the car with VCM>Write FA FP

Coded the NBT with:

3003 > DUN_PROFILE - aktiv
3003 > PAN_PROFILE - aktiv
3003 > ONLINE_BROWSER - beide_aktiv
3003 > ONLINE_SERVICES - nicht_aktiv
3003 > ONLINE_SERVICES_GLS - nicht_aktiv
3003 > ASSIST - nicht_aktiv
3003 > ONLINE_BROWSER_LIVE - aktiv
3003 > DATACOMM_CSIM - nicht_aktiv

Now Bmw Online show up but it can't connect to the internet, says there is no internet connection

Tethering works because if I try to update bmw online service it connects to my iPhone.

I've also tried to do this:

Under FZAuftag-Header, Change the VIN number from yours to the DONOR VIN (Original VIN that your NBT came with) Make sure you put in the FULL VIN.
Save it as xxx - NBT ONLY or whatever you want to call it. You would use this VO only when you use to FDL Code your NBT.

Any hint?

BTW, before this NBT was working but without Mp3 artwork when playing music/spotify/deezer. Now I can see songs artwork but the strange thing is when the song ends the player don't start the next song, i've to manually start from the phone :dunno:

You should remove 6VB or else your BMW Apps is not going to work properly. Also did you change the FA to have the the donor VIN in there and VO code HU_NBT? After you do that, try doing a BMW Assist Update on the menu and see what happens.

Read FA, save, edit adding the donor vin under FZAuftag-Header, saved, activated, coded the NBT with

Edit FA, edit VIN number>Calculate FP>Save>Activate FA and coded NBT again two times with:

What VIN did you use? Is the VIN you use provisioned with BMW Live option? I understand people are using this fake VIN WBAFV31030DZ17872 to activate BMW Live.

Regarding the MP3 album art not showing, there are a couple of codes that you can check but I don't have them now.

For music playing issue, suggest you to update your media / phone software via www.bmw.com/update first. Input your DONOR Vin in order to get the software update for your retrofitted NBT. The latest version of the bin file should be UPD05073 (90.1 MB) for MN-002/TN-002 software series.

Yes you are right. BMW mentioned that they shutdown the service for Assist.

I have almost the same problem. I had VO coded BMW live on my hu_entry. Today I retrofitted NBT and it is functioning good. At first BMW live was active and working great. But then it disappeared suddenly when I pressed "update bmw services." By the way retrofit is registered to BMW by FSC. No emulator or what so ever. Any ideas how to re-enable BMW live?

Code again using a Vin with bwm live active. After that you can code again using the original VIN but don't use anymore "update bmw services"

Added the VIN to my FA (Read FA, edit, Under FZAuftag-Header change the VIN) activate FA and then code NBT

Ok so no Expert mode => VCM => Load saved FA (VO)=> Right click on FA => Calculate FP => click “read FA FP VIN”

Nice thread, I also 'had' BMW Live, until I pressed the update button.

If I'm reading this correctly, I need to:

1. Change my FA with the WBAFV31030DZ17872 and write to the car.
2. VO Code the NBT
3. Change my FA back to my original VIN and write to the car.

Should VO Code my NBT again? I'm guessing I shouldn't as it'll just use my original VIN again.

Today I tried again with no success. The NBT stay black when I change the VIN.
In my opinion this is not possible for me due to I have a factory installed NBT but without those live features.

You need a emulator if you are coding someone else's VIN into your NBT. So if you have factory installed NBT, it's not just a direct coding but hardware is also needed.

You actually don't need to update the modified FA into your car and you shouldn't be doing it. Instead, you should

1. Edit FA and change VIN to WBAFV31030DZ17872
2. Save as a new FA (do not use this new FA for all other purposes other than enabling BMW Live)
3. Do not write the FA to the car
3. VO code NBT (make sure you've disabled VCM and MSM update in eSYS option)
4. Go to ConnectedDrive and update service
5. Edit FA and change VIN to your car's VIN
6. VO code NBT
7. Do not update service anymore

(You also need a emulator for coding someone else's VIN into NBT)

Nice one thanks. I've have retrofitted my NBT so the emulator is present.

Once I've done the above, everything else like generating DE code for the maps is unaffected? i.e. I should still use the NBT donor VIN.

I am having a hard time with getting BMW live and internet to work. My car came with :

In order to activate Bluetooth streaming, ipod control through apple cable and office integration by build was changed to :

I have followed Shawn Sheridan's directions to no avail. I can't get update services to not be greyed out.

BMW live and internet options are there, bluetooth tethering is on and I have checked the option to use phone mobile data in CIC.

Anyone in the same boat manage to get theirs activated?

Yup, your FSC VIN will NOT be changed, actually it is essential as you need a valid FSC (which was generated using the NBT donor VIN) for activating both navigation and map, so you should continue to use your NBT donor VIN to generate map key in the future, in case of map update.
