Checked the X2. Almost have our full £4K deposit on offer in equity if we were to WBAC now.

The Audi is now WBACing at only £1k less than I paid for it, 10 months old today and 5600 miles on the clock.....

Its tempting..... especially as I dont actually need it!

No plans to change, but I checked my September 2018 F31 340i on WBAC yesterday, and they reckon it's worth 31600. I think I only paid 42k for it new.

I've got another 12 months on the PCP, but BMW only want 15600 to buy it at the end.

The Disco valuation now gives my full deposit back (deposit paid 25 months ago against the original car that I rejected).

Thanks to the vagaries/complexities of a rejection deal it's £8k ahead of the invoice price for the current 2020 car and £8k below the invoice price of the rejected 2019 car.

The world is mad..... and I must confess to having toyed with selling up and ordering a factory spec model for delivery in many months time, and something that doesnt really offer discounts at the best of time.....

But I am not sure I would like anything any more than this one so I would be ticking boxes on my to do list more than buying something I reckon would be "better"

Funnily enough, my temptation is the opposite. Sell this, get something similar size with more electrical input and cheaper. Must be the presence of that retirement thread

Final payment could look like a bargain with these values now...

Leaves me utterly cold ever since I first saw one on the road and thought "oh, is that it" at least Kia and Hyundai look like they're trying. But etto.

Armed with a Taycan budget I'd rather have a s/h 911 and a £50k EV from someone else.

Yes, but you like the discovery

I'm not sure I'd put £100k on a Taycan either, but I also think the Kia and Hyundai are pretty pants looking. Hyundai might be OK if it wasn't so big, but a shame they stopped before they got to designing the inside.

I'm glad I don't need to move to main car as an EV at the moment, as there really isn't anything I find even remotely good looking / interesting.

Now that's incredible helped by the deal we got at the time but pretty unheard of for any M car let alone an SUV M car to be in that position after 18 months.

Isn't it just like the housing market though, if you sell your car at the high prices they are now you have to pay over the odds to get another car?

The only way to win is to sell now and not buy another car.

I dont get why everyone is getting so excited.

My home has increased by 100% in 9 years but so has a lot of other properties at that level, its not like I can sell it and buy the same house at half the price.

I guess it's fine if you've got several cars in the household and can do without one of them but yeah, totally agree! Had several heated debates with my dad who keeps saying my house having gone up 15% in 6 years is a good thing, but completely ignores the fact that houses where I want to buy have gone up c30% in the same period! Add to the fact they were already more expensive (as I'm looking at stuff with land) and the jump has become huge, and unlike lots of people I ain't willing to mortgage myself to the balls. The only time ever increasing house prices help are when you either inherit your parents and want to sell, or you downsize/move from the city to the country.

Quite right JLR, unless you are not planning on getting a replacemnent or replacing with something like a Porsche/Ferrari etc where no discounts are on offer it is pointless.

Those that are planning on selling up and paying list on a new mainstream vehicle need to give their heads a good shake.
