I need to Google for a company that sells a kit to offset the number plate to the correct lopsided look. There must be dozens that do that

I am in two minds what to do, i think the prices will hold out for a while longer but I may be kicking myself in 2 years time (i usually change every 2.5 years) when it has possibly plumetted to £35k, which would equate to a £20k swing!!! The '8' is a great car and you will love it, it is on a completely different level to an X3. The only issue for me is how big it is, back in June up in the Lakes and down in darkest Cornwall it was a real pain to navigate around the tiny lanes.... and the GC is even bigger I will sleep on it. |

My 340i is still increasing on WBAC, I get an opportunity to requote every 2 weeks and it goes up 250/500 each time..
If I was to sell at the WBAC figure (but as we all know is questionable once they find a stone chip) it's cost me £116 per month over 24 months to own the 340i. I purchased outright so dont have any lease fees or deposits to calculate, just depreciation. Not bad considering its done 10k miles more, and has 2 years worth of wear and tear added. I love owning it and don't want to afford the cost to replace it for anything for the same performance/needs, so it's staying for the near future at least.

It's all very well saying you're going to keep prices high, but unless they plan to maintain lower volumes then I don't see how that will work. I'd be all for them doing so, as I'd probably rather the manufacturers built less cars, and maintained stronger residuals, and we would all use less of the world's resources perhaps. However, I'm not convinced they'll be able to stick to it.

Thanks for sharing the copy. Sounds like they plan to keep lower volumes then, which is fine with me if they actually do it.
Porsche can do it, but they build about a tenth the cars that the big 3 Germans do.

I've been thinking the same since the middle of last year. That once the manufacturers had discovered a new lower volume model that worked profitably, and crucially had the air cover to make the tough decisions that would have been unpalatable before 2020, they would stick with it.

I was considering changing the wife's year old VW Polo.
According to WBAC and similar, it's now worth more than I paid for it and there is at least £4k equity in it, meaning she could be in a T-Cross Black Edition (I know, but she likes them) with much better spec for the same payment give or take a few quid a month. Then you factor in supply is 20 weeks - 6 months depending on which dealer you speak to and it all starts to become a little more risky on the equity front Does anyone have a VW version of TRL with a field full of stock cars I can speak to?! |

My M40i is going up by £150-200 a week at the moment. Currently sitting at almost £4K equity
I’m going to look at the EV6 this week, and will probably eyeball the Ioniq 5 as well. There’s still some decent support out there for the iX3 though it’s RWD only and only on CarWow’s ‘consider’ list... John Clark Group are doing £599 deposit/ £599 pm with £5.9K dealer contribution & 2.9% apr Last edited by Blacktemplar; 09-13-2021 at 05:47 AM.. |

I think for me it's going to end up being a trade-off between a number of things if I go full EV;
Every EV offering seems to represent a compromise in some area, it's just deciding which ones are red lines and which aren't. My M40i ticks pretty much every box for me, bar the environmental one which I have to confess has become more front of mind this past year. That and the fact that the car principally makes short inefficient journeys these days. Of course being in +ve equity also has a bearing as that's not likely to remain the longer term position so if I want to get off the ICE hamster wheel now it seems like a sensible thing to do. But then again, does "sensible" not break the rules of this forum? Maybe I should be looking to get an X3M or an M4..... |

Headline range figures are all well and good too but in our locations it's cold which will already drop it but for single stop journey it's 40% off almost as you ideally want to be between 20-80% charge. This the smaller range cars (to me anything under TM3 LR 360) and you're almost anxious over 120 mile journeys.

Made contact with the dealer who supplied the Polo originally to see what they could offer. As expected, they started high, but laid out what I'd been offered by Drive the Deal (who won't take PX), C2C and CarWow. They've put together a deal meaning delivery in January (probably slip slightly due to Xmas shutdowns). No cash in from me, taking the Polo in PX and the payment is the same within £0.80 per month. They'll stand on that deal until delivery. To me, it's free money. I'm getting back every penny of the deposit I put into the Polo originally, plus another £2k or so. Then getting in to a much more expensive car with far better spec for no additional outlay. |
