Recommendations for Hotel in London

My wife and I are attending a business event for our company at the Houses of Parliament in March and will be staying over. Any recommendation of somewhere good+convenient to stay? Given we don't get away much, we might as well make the most of it given the business is paying and stay somewhere a bit special.

Unfortunately, it will only be one night as can't get children cover any longer than that.

Of course, that's assuming the HoP are still there in March...

No real budget - I looked at the luxury Ritz rooms online as a guide and wasn't too worried about £400-500 ish as it's a one off. I'm sure that's not the best value though.

Yeah, we're attending an evening event at HoP.

Garage List
London Marriott County Hall - Westminster Bridge or the Corinthia Hotel London - Westminster would be my choices if I were in the same position.

Here to help

Let me know the date and I can look how full we are (currently March and April aren’t very busy generally for some reason..)

Would recommend Royal Horseguards or Amba Charing Cross - both close to embankment, near Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden - and with the perk of me being able to book the room directly via the GMs who always try to look after my guests for some reason...

If you want to pay £500, sure we can find a suite or something but should be able to get a decent room for a chunk less

We were impressed with the Amba at Charing Cross when we stayed there last year. Nice hotel and really excellent service.

I should really talk to you. I spend 200k a year across The Dorchester / Lancaster / Grosvenor. This is ballroom as opposed to rooming mind you. Then again I'm writing this from a crappy Hilton on Holland Park Road.

You should - I assume you mean Grosvenor House on Park Lane (we also have one called the Grosvenor - but ours is at Victoria)

And we can do bedrooms - have a couple on Bayswater Road if you need to be that side, or at Marble Arch if you want to be in town...

Apologies for the minor thread hijack, but if anyone is ever looking for something near Blackfriars/South Bank area, I stayed here this week:

www.banksidehotel.com

Brand new, tons of design flair, but without the usual boutique hotel rough edges or cramped rooms. If you prefer modern luxury rather than old-school opulence, and need something in that part of town, this is worth a look, I was seriously impressed.

Just wanted to say that we had our trip earlier this week. The Royal Horseguards is a fantastic hotel and I can strongly recommend it if anyone is in or near Westminster. Thanks isleaiw1
