440xi coolant loss

Hello guys,

I have a 2018 440xi with 24000km on board. 3 weeks ago the coolant warning showed up and i added like 500ml of coolant. Today i checked the reservoir and its almost empty again. I programmed my car for a check on 31st of january but in my country i think that the people who work at dealership are incompetent.

Do you guys have any idea what it might be? What to expect?
Thank you.

Did your local dealer ever had a chance to determine what could be the reason for coolant loss? Coolant loss is a problem. Loss means the liquid has go somewhere. The question is where is going? Do you see any coolant on the garage floor / pavement?

There is no coolant on garage floor. Also they never had a chance to check the coolant, but just last week my car was in service for oil and filter change and i thought it should be normal to check something vital to your engine...

This is very common with the B58.

Hopefully it's not a internal failure with the intake manifold since its air-to-liquid cooled and there are no visible signs of coolant leaks anywhere, but also keep in mind BMW does cover the bottom of the belly's pretty well so it might be hard to see the actual coolant leak on the ground. Just take it in next time the low indicator pops up and let them find something or at least mention that it's normal to lose a little bit of coolant.
