Apart from a few workforce advantages, Singapore has another key advantage over our sinking isle.

Whilst we are busy moving away from the EU, SG was signing a free trade agreement last October ...

https://www.straitstimes.com/world/e...hip-agreements

Completely agree on the bare faced hypocrisy of Dyson.

They are moving two Directors there to allow them to make it their legal HQ and as you say, Singapore has a trade deal with the EU. We can all do the maths.
If we crash out of the EU, we won't have one unless that useless sh*t Liam Fox pulls his finger out in time, which he won't.
Dyson is just as transparent as Rees-Mogg with the move of his investment firm's European fund to Dublin.
Both c**ts.

I thought all the hard Brexiters were telling us that Britain could become as wealthy and hi-tech as Singapore in the post EU utopia they promised.

Obviously don't believe what they preach.

I'm assuming he's keeping his R&D here to take advantage of the tax breaks for big business as that's a UK scheme unlike the R&D scheme for smaller businesses that we'll lose when out of the EU. Twat

We'd already decided to boycott his products. This just confirms it.

Wasn't Mr Dyson telling us Brexit would be good for British Business? Clearly meant British Business other than his?

Exactly. After banging on about the opportunities of Brexit and in doing so, helping to push the UK out of the EU, he moves his HQ to Singapore which has recently signed a significant trade deal with the EU. He is an utter hypocrite.

We went the SEBO route after two woeful experiences of Dyson cleaners the worst Dyson experience has to be my parents when my old man thought a Dyson washing machine would be a good idea, they paid a fortune (was more than a eqv. Meile iirc) and from day 1 it was terrible with problem after problem eventually going with an almighty bang after 3mths.

I have to say as far as the kit is concerned we've got 2 Dyson vacs and a hair dryer and one of the vacs is 16 years old and still going strong so I think the products are good.

They did, however I don't think they do anymore (which tells you something!)

As for vacuum cleaners, we have a Sebo as our main cleaner and a Dyson cordless for quick cleaning crumbs etc (we've got two young kids!).

Totally agree with this, and they claim it's nothing to do with Brexit or Tax

Can't believe they plan to build electric cars in Singapore - doesn't seem like the obvious manufacturing base!

I’d have to agree - hairdryer really quiet... lets me sleep while the mrs is using it and.... a cordless V10.... easily best cordless vacuum currently on the market.

The company and ceo though i’d agree is a hypocrite

You're a bit late with the torches and pitchforks, he moved manufacturing out of the U.K. about 18 years ago.

The commerce thing and saying we could export wherever we wanted was probably just a smoke screen.

In reality he probably just saw a couple of Romanians in Chipping Sodbury one weekend and was thoroughly shocked by the whole experience.
