Exactly what I did in the first instance with the 4.4 unit which doesn't have a reset button - until I opened it to see that.
Well might be a hard reset - could help with a lot of issues.

1920x1080 can not be for the shape and size of a BMW screen. Maybe 1920x720 - still want to see someone to confirm this .

I asked the Mekede Nav store on Ali express whether they stocked them, but they said their has been some reliability issues with them, so they don't. They also said that theirs is the black screen (but they could have meant the black bezel)...and ofc due to the lack of any trading standards legislation, one has to take everything with a pinch of salt.

From other stores it seems that you can have 1920 and the old grey screen, or 1280 and the newer blue light/antiglare or deeper black screen. Considering its 10" screen, I think that I would rather have a lower resolution, but deeper blacks and anti-glare.

I think is more complicated than editing icons in Photoshop . I don't know much but I think you have to disassembly eventcenter.apk and recompile, to modify something in the menu.
Hope you can do it and help us all.

I think you are right .
But I remember there is a method to unlock LTE bands on any Qualcomm modem . In Snapdragon unit , there is X9 LTE modem .

https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-qxdm-t3785458

Now, it remains problem of antenna - which might not be supplied with the unit .
Owners can confirm if there is an antenna or not.

I just received the newest Zlink.apk for Carplay. Maybe somebody will try it, if its working without the internal CarPlay function. It requires an internet connection during first start.

Thanks guys for the update on Snapdragon unit. Also, can anyone compare the audio quality on FLAC compare to NBT unit playback. Is it on par with NBT? Also mention there is DSP build in so can we use that to fine tune the EQ? I might pull the trigger on Snapdragon 4Gb unit.

Before I invest in one of these I'm hoping for some opinions:

I have an x1 E84 with Business Nav & CIC btw

1) Is the audio quality any better than the earlier units?
2) Does it still need the 3.5mm aux (another audio quality related question), as it seems that some do, some don't?
3) Did everyone get the black bezel unit or silver bezel unit (assuming its not embedded in your dash)?
4) what about the much hyped black screen / blue light anti-glare? Is the screen noticeable darker than the Android 4/7/8 versions
5) Anyone have the 8 core snapdragon one and a UI other than ID7? ie does it also include the earlier interfaces?
6) Do they have an optical out (Toslink)?
6) Anyone from UK buy from aliexpress and get caught for import duty?
7) Anyone using a GPS splitter cable so they can use the existing roof mounted GPS antenna?
8) Is there anyway of using the vehicles microphone for calls?
9) I'm going to running DAB, airplay/android auto, and possibly a 4G dongle. Can I use a selfpowered USB hub?
