Bluetooth problem while using the phone

Hi guys, wondering if anyone has experienced the same I'm having atm:

So connect my phone via Bluetooth (no problems there)

When somebody rings me or I ring them them...every single person I've spoke to has said they can hardly hear me and it's super super quiet which too me seems like it's a microphone issue, problem is that when using the voice control it works flawlessly and instantly so that suggests that the microphone works fine. From what I can see there is a mic above the drivers and the passenger side as well.

Just wanted to ask if anyone had experienced this before before I ring BMW and get it booked in. Only picked it up on Saturday

Have you turned the Idrive volume up when the call is connected ?

Yeah that was my first thought. That just turns the sound though the speakers up, I can hear the person on the other end perfectly, it's like they can't hear me. Super stupid question but I've only used the buttons on the steering wheel while in call, not the button on the dash, assuming they would do the same thing?

That was my second though..oh it could be my phone. I've got an iPhone 6s atm. I'm going to try the Mrs's phone at the weekend but she's got a iPhone 5s so who knows! Might try my work Nokia too see if that makes a difference. This is such a frustrating fault (or not a fault!) not something you expect

I have a loan 330d with EBT and when I get calls (iPhone 6s) I get complaints that it's quiet and my voice keeps coming and going.

I never had the issue in my old cars (none EBT) with the iPhone 6s

That's the exact complaints that I get too. Guess it kind of nice to know I'm not alone, but not nice to know that still don't know if it can be fixed

Go into your settings in idrive and you can turn up the sensitivity of the microphone whilst you are in a call.

Its in SETTINGS - SOUND - VOLUME SETTINGS

scroll to the bottom and it's there

oh, and

Oh jheez, how embarrassing that I've missed something so simple and glaringly obvious!

Going to try that first thing, I swear I spent half an hour going through all the settings trying to find it.

You Sir are a 'potential hero' I salute you!

How about ringing yourself, letting it go to voicemail and leave yourself a message. Then playback later to see how loud you sound compared to other calls that you have ?

I have the same issue, only difference is my sos malfunction appeared at the same time my mic went out. Im not sure if there is a correlation there. However, it is a nuisance to say the least... any solution yet?

Do you try the old disconnect your phone from the car and reconnect it, i'm sure the garage are going to ask you that any way, so at the very least its one of their questions eliminated.

Have you tried looking at your phone settings at all? Maybe its going through your phones mic instead of the cars?
