Agree with whats been said last two series have been disappointing, especially the last. Mad as a box of frogs from seemingly nowhere, lame death of sersei. Build up over god knows how many seasons of white walkers and its all over in one episode.
Honestly found this last series quite boring and poorly executed. |

Not a series I ever got into myself, but I gather Season 8 was crap and I imagine if I'd invested that much time and interest in something for it to just fizzle out I'd be pissed too. Surely the screen-writers etc., must have seen where it was going but did it anyway?
I understand fans have over a million signatures on a petition to have Season 8 re-written (not that I think that would ever happen).

The problem with the writing is that the series overtook the books. When they didn't have any of the detailed, complex, layered and clever original material to draw from, they showed what they were made of. Not much. |

At the start of the whole show no one believed in white walkers either. Plus, they didn't really stay as the Knights Watch anyway, he left the wall with the wildings and headed into the north beyond the wall. That one can be explained away, the Dothraki army can't. It looked bigger than before the battle with the white walkers. |

Maybe some of those brave Dothraki warriors were hiding for the rest of the battle with the night king |

I thought it was building up to a showdown between Sansa and Daenerys which would have been good.
Got to say I was disappointed with the last episode. |

Ultimately Sansa used her brain to win, which was her only option. She made her play to win as soon as she told Tyrion about Jon Snow. She got it right. And now I really am thinking about it too much....... |

Apparently there is going to be 3 or 4 spin offs so I'm sure some of them will be good. |

It was a success because it wasn't made for the sole purpose of popularity and making money... quite rightly because it was so good the popularity and money came as a side effect.. When that becomes the driving force, the substance loses out. I suspect they'll appeal to the Disney crowd and minority's and dilute it.. marvel style.. Hopefully I'm wrong and really cynical |

Sorry I am om dial up so only just watched the last couple of episodes last night
It was always going to be tough to end an epic series and it was good enough. Looks like there is good scope to resurrect the series at some point. Off the GOT topic, I stumbled accross a brilliant Australian WW1 series on Amazon prime called 'Gallipoli'. I binged watched all 7 episodes over a couple of evenings. It is a must watch if you like things like Band of Brothers. Last edited by F20MAW73; 05-27-2019 at 04:50 AM.. |
