Drone improvement - DP related?

Hi

Car is running flawlessly so I have now turned my attention so the small things. At exactly highway speeds it has a bit of drone. Do you guys think it could be improved by having a lees bulgy DP? The ER is probably looking the way it does to share the shell with the sports cat. But for drone maybe the VRSF design is better?

Are you running the stock exhaust and have you removed your rear silencer?

Are you running Catless or high flow cat? I've had two Catless downpipes; one is the bulgy design which I run now(CTS), and had a vrsf Catless downpipe before. Drone was similar if not worse with the vrsf downpipe.

If you're Catless a high flow cat would help with drone I assume, but I'm not 100%.

drone is a harmonic vibration caused by the exhaust. you aren't getting drone if the rest of the exhaust is stock. You're just hearing the exhaust sound more because it's louder. put a catted downpipe on the car if it's too much for you lol

If the ER downpipe is installed correctly and the gaskets are new, you won't get any drone from the DP.

as Phantom10R the exhaust sound is more prevalent with catless downpipes (including some stock drone that always existed but was muffled by the stock cats).

Yeah, slightly altering the shape of the DP but remaining catless isnt going to change the sound volume/tone/etc that you hear from the exhaust.

Top 2 options are probably going to be to go catted, or replace the resonator, or add an additional resonator.

Why don't you to want to add a cat or resonator? I bet you could find an inexpensive highflow cat, if you don't have emissions concerns, and have an exhaust shop weld it in to your dp for a similar cost as the vrsf race pipe.

Don't feel like cutting up the factory exhaust, but thanks for the suggestion
