N55 performance midpipe

I've got a 2015 435i with MPPK + MPE and am interested in adding a performance midpipe. Has anyone added a performance midpipe to their N55 especially if they have MPPK and MPE? Also, are there any performance midpipes for the N55 besides AWE Tuning? That's the only one I've seen so far. I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts that have done this.

it's really no different than just removing your resonator. it doesn't do anything in the way of power.

As mentioned above, "performance" midpipe is a misnomer, because its not going to add any power. The aftermarket midpipes with either be resonated or non-resonated. A resonated one will likely sound very similar to stock, which has a resonator. A non-resonated will sound similar to resonator delete.

Resonator delete with MPE will be pretty raspy. Extremely raspy if you add a DP.

I have the same exhaust setup and had the MPPK tune originally. You don't really say what your motivation is to want to touch the midpipe. I wouldn't recommend it. You can read many posts of guys who did and regretted it.

AWE midpipe sounds great but is extremely loud so even friends of mine who love their cars loud, went back to the stock midpipe.

If you want to tune your exhaust sound, install a BootMod3 Stage1 tune since it has a dashboard that you can play with for burbles and pops. It has a free automatic transmission tune too.

Thanks. This is what I'm trying to figure out.

Thanks. This helps a lot. I know that I will eventually add a catted downpipe and probably go Bootmod3 Stage 2 with the transmission tune as well. Adding the performance midpipe would probably make the exhaust too loud for my taste.

You are welcome. No reason to wait for a downpipe to run BootMod3 Stage1. It's a lot of fun!

I've got a Fabspeed Catted downpipe which has the best HJS catalytic converter from Europe. There price just went up. The next best that also does not cause a check engine light is the Active Autowerke catted downpipe.
