Best bang for bucks mod for n20?

What’s the most worth it mod to spend on n20 engine? I am not a hard core mod driver but i do want a light mod to get the most out of the n20 engine without sacrificing the n20 reliability. I want the reliability as close as to stock engine…

Ecu tune with k&n air filter and exhaust?

Stage 1 Tune would more than suffice for that. Airfilter is really your choice as stock filter isnt too bad, exhaust is more for pops crackles while driving (personal preference really). Do you have any particular mods in mind?

not really. i already have rims (wheels), so i am thinking of body kit, M tech body kit, but M tech body kit has a dual exhaust setup, so to complete the look, i probably need to buy a dual exhaust exit. if i m buying dual exhaust setup, should i go all the way to muffler delete, etc? can dual exhaust get more hp? or is it just for sounds only? if sounds only, i will probably skip or buy the cheapest available to complete body kit

stage 1 tune is what i have in mind to get more hp without sacrificing reliability, been reading the forum, and it says bm3 or mg flasher tune is good, still deciding which one to get...

air filter is because i know from my other experience is the least expensive to get more hp since more air flow...

Bm3 is the only answer

There is a lot of debate on that, the gains if any are very very little and cant be felt.

For a simple stage 1 tune, BM3 is the way.

Tuning the car brings the most value.

bm3 is our most popular flash tune, JB4 is our most popular piggyback

intercooler, charge pipe will add a lot of value as well without sacrificing any reliability

I have an N20 with stage 1 Bootmod3 (stock down pipe and intercooler). Big Difference over stock.

BM3 Stage 1 + xHP transmission tune Stage 3. Best combo. For around USD 1k, you can feel the differences.

Question about bm3, if i buy a new car, does the license transfer to a new car IF i sell my old car and tuned back old car to stock?

Or each time i buy new BMW, i have to buy new license? So bm3 is tied to vin instead of purchaser?

Also can i jump straight to bm3 stage 2? Or i need to buy specific components first?

Thanks.

you can 1x transfer BM3 license, with same T&C:

1. such license never been transferred
2. old car has been flash to stock and relock DME
3. transfer only can be done to other vehicles with same price of license (N20 to B48, B48 to N20, etc)

for stage 2, you need to read the description for required hardware in each type of engine
stage 2 B48 doesn't require FMIC, while stage 2 N20 requires FMIC
