Intake suggestions?

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the modding world but I already know I want to upgrade my intake. Any suggestions? Is Injen the way to go?

Thanks!

Agreed. The sound difference is minimal if any. I went Mishimoto as well so that there was more space.

I believe the EVO is quieter due to the materials/size of it.

EVO is a closed intake, quieter.

The first one is a open intake with a heat shield, louder.

I went with the open Injen intake. Love it!

As others have said, it all just comes down to how much you want to spend and what you want it to look under the hood. AND I guess sound if you are considering between the Injen and Injen EVO.

Dinan doesn't make an intake for N20?

Good riddance. Now you won't feel compelled to pay the 300% Dinan tax. :P

although i have no evidence or dyno comparisons to quantify my opinion... to me, the best intake design for performance is the afe momentum gt. since it draws air most of it's air from the kidney grill inlet and is constructed out of plastic.

if all you care about is wwwhhhhhhsssssshhhh, get the cheapest one or whatever one you want, since intakes dont add much in performance anyway on the N20. they are basically noise makers and would be the last bolt on part i'd consider.

That’s probably not important as cooling is done in the intercooler. The turbo heats up the air quite a bit anyways before it hits the intercooler. On my “fast” car, I just have a cone filter clamped on directly to my supercharger. Air is around ambient temp anyways by the time it gets to the throttle body because of the meth and intercooler.

Also have to remember that you can buy a scoop like that for any. But regardless, no intake makes a difference on a 4cyl making that low of power.

AWE makes a closed carbon fiber intake system for the N26 but it's pricey. That's the option I went with after trying the INJEN EVO intake on my N26. If you like the stock look the AWE cuts down on weight dramatically and I like the fact that the stock air duct inlet to the grill connects right up with slide in clips and matches perfectly unlike the EVO which leaves about a 5 inch opening on the side of the air box. When I installed the EVO it seemed to me like a flawed design because you are not truly getting "cold air" through the intake system. I even reached out to INJEN and recommended the change but they told me to change the design and casting molds it would be very costly. I'm not slamming or promoting in either direction, you just have to find what will work best for you. That's my 2 cents.

Is there an intake that uses the stock air filter so I can continue getting free air filters as part of free maintenance?
