I think it's a good looking Wheel! I like the two-tone. I personally wouldn't go out and buy these, but if they came on the car, I would be completely satisfied. I don't like the 20×8.5 fitment though, that's a bit silly. You're going 20, at least make it a 9 or 9.5 wide...

Whatss the widest rear tires are you guys running on the 405ms? The time to replace the pirellis is getting close. I'm thinking 4S 235/35/20 and 265/30/20.... for some reason the 275s are cheaper lol, might be way too wide for the rim though.

most tire specs have 255(oem) as the widest on 20x8.5" rear. a 275 definitely won't fit. you could possibly fit a 265 but when you force squeeze the tire beads to seat on the narrow rim, the sidewall usually deforms and the tire shoulder is pulled towards the rim, albeit slightly, especially on these short sidewalls. you'd have more width but the handling would likely worsen

i'd just leave the rear at oem size and increase the front to 245/30/20(max width on 20x8) to reduce understeer

I would love to do that but then my diameter will be off, and this isnt good for xdrive.

for x-drive having the same front and rear diameters is the best case scenario. you may deviate, but generally front and rear diameter differences should not exceed 1%. i have read of some here deviating to 1.2% without issue, however i would not recommend it and would try to stay as close to 0% as possible.

fwiw, your original plan of 235/35/20(26.5"), 265/30/20(26.3") would have a diameter difference of 0.8%.

OEM sizes on 20" are 225/35/20(26.2"), 255/30/20(26.1"), 0.4% difference

EDIT
my recommendation of 245/30/20(25.8"), 255/30/20(26.1") is a diameter difference of 1.2%. although it should work, I'll rescind this recommendation

OEM size for front and rear seems to be the only option on OEM 20" wheels

265 is too wide for 8.5 imo. But if you want to try it, let us know how it works out

I know, min recommended width for 265 is 9" , i know a few people did it, so i'm trying to figure if they had any issues.

this guy did it: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...php?p=23397889

I noticed premature wear on the outside of my front tires (OEM pirellis) anyone else having this issue?

Oh wow. That's great. I was a little worried hearing stories about how high Performance summer tires go out by 16k miles.

I'm running 235/35/20 and 265/30/20 michelin ps4s on OEM 405M. It's my second summer and I really enjoy them. Yes 265 is not recommended on 8.5" but I decided to try it since the 255/30 was not available last year. So far I have not experience any single problem. The ride is SO MUCH better then the crappy rft pzero . The car doesn't feel "sloppy" at all. All I can say is go for it you'll not regret it.

edit I just realized you quoted the post about my car ahah

Damn! That looks good!!! Wow! That blue with those wheels... mmmmmmmm
I'm assuming you're running springs or some type of aftermarket setup..?
I have OEM 442's with 8 inch wide wheels for the front and 8.5 in the rear. I'm currently running the OEM Bridgestone Potenza S001 RFT 225/40/19 in the front and 255/35/19 in the rear. I'm running stock suspension, but it's M-sport with adaptive suspension, so it seems fairly low from the factory.
I have my tire & wheel package listed in the classified section here, but I'd rather just sell the tires and keep the 442's. I'd like to run 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 on my 442's, but I'm trying to get as much advice as possible as far as rubbing. I don't want ANY rubbing issues! Rubbing defeats the purpose of trying to get more contact patch on the ground, effects handling, creates excessive tire wear, etc...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I'll include some recent pics, I've yet to install the spacers.

It's lowered on h&r sport spring + 10/15 mm spacers.

On stock suspension you wont get any rubing with 235/265.

Definitely want these rims! I think they would look great on my Glacier Silver F31. Especially in polished or matte black.

Is there someone who knows the internal option code for the 405m wheels on 20? I want to add them in the app and I can't find the code. Thanks

405M wheels looks great but any 20" wheel on F30x will require a tire with a smaller sidewall. Smaller tire sidewall means less comfort and there are many threads where 405M wheel owners moved to a 19" or even 18" wheel.

In some parts of the US (especially on the East Coast), the road imperfections make any 20" wheel a difficult proposition: bent wheels, blown tires and the time lost.

This exactly why I'm looking to eventually get rid of my 20" 405s. They look great, but ride quality isn't, even in S. FL with somewhat decent roads.
Just trying to figure out what 19" I want to replace with, as I'd really like a 19x9.5 out back. These 20x8.5s don't cut it
