335d X Drive Tuning
Hi Guys,
First post on here. Absolutely chuffed with it at the moment but already started looking at tuning boxes for it. I'm currently looking at DTUK, Bluespark and Spider. Do any of you have any experiences with the above tuners? I like th elook of the Spider as you have adaptable maps from your phone/tablet in the car but is it really worth an extra £180 on top of the bluespark for the same power etc... Thanks, AJ Last edited by A1243R; 08-22-2016 at 06:08 AM.. |

Sorry gents I do have pictures but they're on my phone Haha. I will upload when I can.
Its Estoril Blue, Red Leather and standard tbh. It is currently having the windows tinted as we speak.... Then I will be getting the 405M Alloys for it and a tuning box. |

A remap would be better BUT still a warantee worry, your choice in the end. Tuning boxes are very low tech cheap full of resisters and crap, 10 bob to make.

True John
If I were to do anything to the engine on mine it would ACS or birds expensive I know but worth it I think to keep the warranty in check

A tuning box will never compete with full remap despite the spiel people will tell you, they are effectively a middle man that's not to say they won't work good ones do to an extent.
Downfalls are optimistic MPG output and not full potential of the car, the better ones can adjust fuel by rpm as effectively adding fuel on top can cause torque spikes to the existing power delivery. I own a tuning company and only do bespoke aftermarket tuning on standalones petrol, I don't do diesel tuning but know a bit about it my forte is petrol tuning. I had a poor experience with a blue spark (fuelling and boost box) where it didn't really generate more than 20bhp as opposed to remap that produced 40bhp - to be fair to bluespark they were very helpful but it didn't work out for me - there was nothing wrong with the car. I don't do things by half as I did before and after at my expense on the dyno. That's not to say they wont work it just didn't on my 3.0 TDI lump. |
