2017 BMW 440i Rear bumper replacement

Hey Guys,
I need to replace my 440i's rear bumper(deep scratches and small dent) and the BMW authorized body shop gave me a quote of around $2500 for a new bumper. Does this sound right? Thanks in advance.

$2K is a more realistic estimate.

Did the shop provide an itemized quote? What's the exterior color of your vehicle?

Yes I got itemized quote(attached pictures). Color is black sapphire metallic. I expected somewhere around $1500.

In Pittsburgh? Sounds a bit high. They're charging $1300 for labor alone? Find a good body shop in your area. There are a ton of very high quality body shops that won't be "BMW Authorized" and will do just as well if not better. It sure could be a typical price, but I think it's definitely quite high.

Pro Tip: shop around and get multiple estimates. Whether you're buying a car or buying a pair of headphones, if you want to make sure you're not getting ripped off, shop around.

All decent body shops will you give you a free estimate.

It states that insurance is paying. Why the concern?
It only shows $900 for labor. Don’t know why parts are showing labor hours.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will get quotes from other body shops and compare them. I did see one other BMW authorized shop which is a little far from my place but I will schedule an appointment with them and see if they offer a lower quote.

I have a BSM and was hit in 2017. It was $1900 all in for an OEM replacement and top notch matching paint job 2.5 years ago.
