The RPM signal taps into OBD2 port pin #9. The other wire taps into JB4 DB25 connector pin #9 as well.

You do need the updated JB4 beta firmware and updated AIC map. Today I ran map7 and it really works without any issue. No changes etc need to be made.
Interesting. Who should I talk to to if I wanted to try this, ask terry for the firmware? I'm on ISO3 now. My tach is already being pulled from the OBD tach pin
You are F series pwg iso obd2 right?
No f-series pwg OBDII ISO3. I found s bug that kept me from disabling auto code delete making diagnostics really hard and terry built a new firmware last week and sent it to me. I was on The F series OBDII pwg ISO 2 previously when I found the bug and terry fixed it and sent me a new build ISO3 which in currently using.
We use same fw then. Ask terry for pi jb4 integrated aic map.

i have a ps2 turbo with fuel its PI with jb4 integrated split second controller. wonder if it would work with a eurocharged tune. Also any updates on your car? and youre running 100% e85 with stage 2 pump? I thought steve said its maxed out at 100% e85.

Yea sorry guys, cars been sitting for a long ass time for 2 reasons. Took forever for the insurances to fight out who's at fault, and then a certain dealer had a breakdown in communication with how long it was going to take for the new m3 rep bumper to come in which resulted in like a 2 month delay. Needless to say I went with another supplier so the bumper should arrive this week or next and ill be getting my car back soon. I cant wait because my Velos S3's have been sitting in my garage just begging to be put on! I'm lazy and should have been more persistent with getting my car fixed but oh well lol.

Nate - just curious - how have all of your mods affected driveability and fuel mileage? Any drivetrain issues from all the extra power? Also, I recall that you're running E85 and wrote something about how it was better than paying for 93-octane Premium. Since E85 is only roughly 73% as thermally efficient as pure gasoline, doesn't the reduced mileage sort of negate the lower price of E85? With Houston being so spread out (~70 miles from Katy to the Reservoir, etc.), do you find yourself fueling up pretty often - or do you keep the Beast for "pleasure" driving only?

Also, wondered what part of Houston you live in - I've lived there twice previously myself. I was down across from Ellington off I-45 in the mid-70s and then in The Woodlands in the early 2000s. That Hardy Toll Road was a lot like the Autobahn back then, especially late at night/early in the AM.

It's not finished yet, it's still sitting in my garage all apart lol I'm working night shift 6 days in a row so I don't touch it when I have to work. Should be finished up on Tuesday or so.

But I have traction issues without it lol so I couldn't imagine what it's going to be like with it.
What size rear tires and wheels are you wearing if you don't mind me asking?

lol they definitely have affected fuel mileage, but I don't care that much. I get around 20mpg the way I drive, or 24 if I drive normally. Its better than the 9mpg I get in my Sierra Denali . I haven't done the math but E85 is 1.90 here compared to 2.70 for premium, I don't think the mpg decrease would offset the price that much. Even if the overall cost is more due to decreased mpg, its still more than worth it for the extra power. I haven't had any drivetrain problems either, although I haven't been able to do much testing at the current power levels due to the accident. Ill be sure to post any issues I have when I come across them.

I can usually make it all over Houston on one tank if I'm out all day. There's tons and tons of E85 stations all over the west side starting from the downtown area so finding fuel hasn't been an issue. I live in Baytown and there's two E85 stations real close to my house and not out of the way so its pretty convenient. I bet the Ellington area has changed dramatically since the 70's lol I've only been in the woodlands a couple of times, but my sister lives in Tomball so I'm in the area a lot. The Hardy Toll Road has been shut down for construction for what seems like forever so I've never taken it lol.

rear wheels are 19x10 et45 and im going to try 275/35. I had 285/30's on my 20x10.5's so hopefully these will fit and look right.

Doing some math, if you get 20 MPG on E85 and use the .73% thermal efficiency factor, you'd get about 27 MPG on 93 octane, or roughly another 100 miles on a 15-gallon fillup. That'd require another 5 gallons of E85 at $1.90 or roughly $9.50 additional cost. Difference between 15 gallons of each fuel is about $12, so (theoretically) it's almost a break-even. The octane boost is definitely a factor, but in "normal" driving, would using 93 cause much power loss? Strange that right there in "Energy City", you have E85 everywhere - I can't even find a station around here that has it.

Yeah, there was no "outer loop" around Houston back in the mid-70s, and the Sam Houston Tollway crosses 45 South right where my subdivision was. Can't imagine what they're doing to the Hardy, but it did get crowded near downtown during rush hour. Sure was a fast way to get from downtown to just below the Woodlands (or vice-versa), though. Did some of my best testing there late at night.

lol well thanks for doing the math for me, that's what I figured though, so now its really worth the extra power haha. But I never really do normal driving, I always drive fast and punch it, unless im on a long road trip but ill still be doing 90-100+ mph. As you can see I have a tendency for driving fast. E85 used to be hard to find but over the last couple of years stations have been popping up all over the place, otherwise I never would have went with PI. I could put a tank of 93 in my car if I had to but I would have to turn off the PI and change all my tune settings, I hope I don't have to go through that lol.

the NE section of the BW is open and clear at night, ive gotten some damn good runs there, a wide open 4 lanes for me to play on lol.

And he rises from the dead..lol. Sup Nate? Hope you get that beast on the road soon. You'll be fine with 275/35/19s on those Velos S3s(sick wheels) with ET45 19/10. "Hella flush" is an understatement. That's my set up now with the Vorsteiners 103s and I couldn't be happier!

+1 mileage all depends on how you drive. I have a very similar build and tune as Nathaniel and E85 is always worth it for the power. In Illinois we have the 2nd most E85 stations in the country so it's a little harder to find than regular 93 but only a mile or 2 out of the way. I have been running pure E85 (sometimes the winter mix we still had at the pump which is lower around E70 on average) for over a month now as my DD. Normal driving in the highway I get around 26 mpg, but I spent a day at the track last week and blew through over half a tank of straight C85 in about 30 miles of very hard driving on the track. I added a couple gallons of 104 before I left and drove home (40 miles) and barely moved one tick on the fuel gauge. I've been running nitrometh injection as well to get a little more boost on the track and during road tuning since the pure S2 is pretty much maxed out at 25 psi and haven't had any drivetrain issues to date (crank hp being over 600). I rarely change maps aside from little tweaks when working with my tuner remotely but my car has been running fantastically even with the nitro injection.
Just need to remember that Straight E85 for repeated Fill ups is not recommended. Every 4-5th fill up you should run a tank of 93 just to clean out the valves, fuel pumps, and combustion chambers. Turning off the PI is as simple as pulling a fuse but I rarely ever turn it off except when testing different aspects of the fuel system.

Thanks for the informative post. I am headed this direction. My PS2 just shipped a couple days ago and I am sending my TBI back to Steve at Fuel-it for PI upgrade. Now I have to save money for install labor..lol. I'll get there eventually..lol.

I should probably do this. I use e85 roughly 5-5.5 gallons however today I filled up with a full 6 gallons and the rest 93 octane. Do you think I should just run a full tank of 93 through my car or should I get one of the fuel additives to help with that.? I have not run a straight tank of 93 in my car for a while. (embarrassingly enough)

One tank of premium gasoline from a good station, in my area shell V-power 93 is the best, should be more than enough. If you're running E mixes with good premium gas you can go further between "clean out" tanks. I've used some additives in the past but usually just seafoam available at most gas stations or this other BMW branded fuel system cleaner I picked up in my local BMW dealership's parts dept. The bottles claim using it every couple thousand miles will help keep everything running smoothly so I don't go out of my way to do it all that often and haven't used it in a few thousand miles now but I may run a bottle through on my next "clean out" tank.

So they finally finished that section...good to hear, although I'm not sure I'll ever be in the area again. Life's too good out here near the beach.

Once they open the Hardy, there's one section that's arrow-straight for nearly 5 miles or so. Speedo-pegging territory. May the force be with you!

rear wheels are 19x10 et45 and im going to try 275/35. I had 285/30's on my 20x10.5's so hopefully these will fit and look right.
Ok great thanks for the reply, so I'm guessing if I go 18x10 on the rear there shouldn't be any issues

Hey quick question, I'm getting my PDU kit, PS2, (DV & Inlet) and lpfp installed on my car on monday, i plan on running full e85, so I'm bringing it to the shop with an empty tank. The shop quoted me $2200 to install everything, which seems like a good price, So in order for this all to work, Im guessing ill have to do the tuning through the jb4 correct?? (I plan on taking it to Enzo after for a flash tune to top it off) .. What are some things I should look out for?

Did you see how much Enzo would charge? Might be easier to have it installed and tuned there at one time.
Pricing is semi ok-i had my turbo installed for $500.
