i have a ps2 turbo with fuel its PI with jb4 integrated split second controller. wonder if it would work with a eurocharged tune. Also any updates on your car? and youre running 100% e85 with stage 2 pump? I thought steve said its maxed out at 100% e85.

Yea sorry guys, cars been sitting for a long ass time for 2 reasons. Took forever for the insurances to fight out who's at fault, and then a certain dealer had a breakdown in communication with how long it was going to take for the new m3 rep bumper to come in which resulted in like a 2 month delay. Needless to say I went with another supplier so the bumper should arrive this week or next and ill be getting my car back soon. I cant wait because my Velos S3's have been sitting in my garage just begging to be put on! I'm lazy and should have been more persistent with getting my car fixed but oh well lol.

Nate - just curious - how have all of your mods affected driveability and fuel mileage? Any drivetrain issues from all the extra power? Also, I recall that you're running E85 and wrote something about how it was better than paying for 93-octane Premium. Since E85 is only roughly 73% as thermally efficient as pure gasoline, doesn't the reduced mileage sort of negate the lower price of E85? With Houston being so spread out (~70 miles from Katy to the Reservoir, etc.), do you find yourself fueling up pretty often - or do you keep the Beast for "pleasure" driving only?
Also, wondered what part of Houston you live in - I've lived there twice previously myself. I was down across from Ellington off I-45 in the mid-70s and then in The Woodlands in the early 2000s. That Hardy Toll Road was a lot like the Autobahn back then, especially late at night/early in the AM.

I can usually make it all over Houston on one tank if I'm out all day. There's tons and tons of E85 stations all over the west side starting from the downtown area so finding fuel hasn't been an issue. I live in Baytown and there's two E85 stations real close to my house and not out of the way so its pretty convenient. I bet the Ellington area has changed dramatically since the 70's lol I've only been in the woodlands a couple of times, but my sister lives in Tomball so I'm in the area a lot. The Hardy Toll Road has been shut down for construction for what seems like forever so I've never taken it lol.

rear wheels are 19x10 et45 and im going to try 275/35. I had 285/30's on my 20x10.5's so hopefully these will fit and look right.

Doing some math, if you get 20 MPG on E85 and use the .73% thermal efficiency factor, you'd get about 27 MPG on 93 octane, or roughly another 100 miles on a 15-gallon fillup. That'd require another 5 gallons of E85 at $1.90 or roughly $9.50 additional cost. Difference between 15 gallons of each fuel is about $12, so (theoretically) it's almost a break-even. The octane boost is definitely a factor, but in "normal" driving, would using 93 cause much power loss? Strange that right there in "Energy City", you have E85 everywhere - I can't even find a station around here that has it.
Yeah, there was no "outer loop" around Houston back in the mid-70s, and the Sam Houston Tollway crosses 45 South right where my subdivision was. Can't imagine what they're doing to the Hardy, but it did get crowded near downtown during rush hour. Sure was a fast way to get from downtown to just below the Woodlands (or vice-versa), though. Did some of my best testing there late at night.

And he rises from the dead..lol. Sup Nate? Hope you get that beast on the road soon. You'll be fine with 275/35/19s on those Velos S3s(sick wheels) with ET45 19/10. "Hella flush" is an understatement. That's my set up now with the Vorsteiners 103s and I couldn't be happier!

Just need to remember that Straight E85 for repeated Fill ups is not recommended. Every 4-5th fill up you should run a tank of 93 just to clean out the valves, fuel pumps, and combustion chambers. Turning off the PI is as simple as pulling a fuse but I rarely ever turn it off except when testing different aspects of the fuel system.

Thanks for the informative post. I am headed this direction. My PS2 just shipped a couple days ago and I am sending my TBI back to Steve at Fuel-it for PI upgrade. Now I have to save money for install labor..lol. I'll get there eventually..lol.

Once they open the Hardy, there's one section that's arrow-straight for nearly 5 miles or so. Speedo-pegging territory. May the force be with you!

Ok great thanks for the reply, so I'm guessing if I go 18x10 on the rear there shouldn't be any issues
