528ix Making Chirping Noise While Idle. 3 Different Diagnostic Results. Any Ideas?
A few months ago while I was idle, my 2009 528ix jerked a little and I heard a chirping noise but when I started to drive again, the noise went away. It happened again last week so I took the car to an auto shop that specializes in BMW, Mercedes, etc.; they said I needed a transfer case motor and 2 engine mounts ($1600.00). It didn't sound right so I took it to a different shop - they said the front crank shaft pulley was out of round a bit and only the dealer can fix it with a special tool. I took it to the dealer today and they said they found no faults anywhere. Can anyone give me some advice on this - who is telling the truth? What could really be causing this and should I be concerned?
