BMW 440i with MPPSK + DME Tune??

Hey guys, I recently got the MPPSK kit installed on my BMW 440i Gran Coupe and I know the installation comes alongside a factory "tune". I was just wondering if I were to do the DME Tune, would the tune override/cancel each other out? Also some technician told me that if I were to tune and then de tune later on, it might de tune the factory "tune" as well. Don't know much about tuning so I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

I paid the regular MSRP of $2950 plus two CF tips at $298 ea., and it was $190 for the install. In NH we don’t have sales tax, so no additional costs there.

$3,736

It is quite simple - you can only have one tune (software) on your Engine Control Unit. When you install the MPPSK - you get a BMW MPPSK tune/software. As soon as you flash something else - the MPPSK software is completely gone. The only way to get it back is by a tool that allows you to flash back the original software / MPPSK.

Very simple. "Either, or", not "and".

I went through this. BM3 saves your stock tune so that you can flash back to MPPK whenever you'd like. If you had MPPK flashed, it's going to back that map up and call it the stock tune/map.

I verified this with protuning freaks before purchasing my license, but have never switched back to test their claim.

The BMW MPPK tune is even included in BM3 OTS maps.

I haven't been able to find it. Are you referring to the M2 tune?

See below for 340i/440i (B58), don't know what they offer for your 335i, though.

It's actually MPPSK for the B58. You could use a piggy back tune and that is on top of the mppsk or mppk. Removing the tune will put you back to mppsk which you can do without physically removing it but you can also physically remove it when bringing it to the dealer. There is a BM3 for N55 likely has the same feature.

That's nice of them! They don't offer it for the N55.

AFAIK, the S in MPPSK technically denotes the inclusion of the M Performance exhaust. MPPK for the N55 was the tune + a modified air box, MPE was separate. They packaged them together for B58, so it kinda/sorta makes sense to call the tune MPPK because they're not including an exhaust. :

It's kind of confusing as the tune is part of the kit which includes burbles. I've never heard of the tune for b58 called mppk. And the N55 version did come with an intake.

Not entirely true. 3 quite different products which are confused way too often:

MPPK: N55 product consisting of a tune and new/modified air intake

MPE: A new/modified silencer/muffler for N55 and B58. Note - this is just an end-silencer replacing the stock one, nothing else in the exhaust gets modified.

MPPSK: B58 product consisting of a tune and a completely new, larger diameter, valved exhaust system aft of the cat. conv. downpipe! No mid-silencer (deleted) and effectively a straight-pipe exhaust as soon as the valves open. Not to be confused with MPPK and MPE! It is not a "repack" of either. Very different and much more spectacular
