Looking for 430i/440i Manual and RWD

Hi guys! As the title suggests I am looking for either a 430i or a 440i in manual with rear wheel drive. Preferably I would like a Gran Coupe and also a relatively high spec- Harmon Kardon, heated seats being the main two options. Maximum mileage 50k miles and preferably under 30k. No write offs or outstanding finance etc.

I don't think the 440i GC was available with the manual box.

The 440i manual coupe is quite rare, only 4 on Autotrader at the minute.

As said, the 440i GC was only available as an auto.

Much like the 340i.

Saloon - our pleasure sir.

Estate - go screw yourself sir.

Extra weight of the estate relative to emissions meant Auto only in the 40i

OP - you may find a late model 435i GC perhaps in manual? different 6 pot but still good...... EDIT....well a quick look tells that the GC even in 35i guise was auto. Coupe is either as is the 30i in the GC

I think a manual is almost impossible to find in the 440i.

If you did go auto my 68plate 440i coupe is up for sale with only 15000 miles.

But, you can get a late 335i estate with the manual box - then you get the better body style too

Yeah that's what I have - I ordered when I found out the 340i wasn't going to be available with a manual.

I keep looking at Audi S5 sportbacks at the minute (lockdown has stopped me from trying one) but I'm concerned that if I don't like the auto box I won't be able to go back to what I have now, I didn't like my last auto either.

Thanks for the info guys! Guess I'm stuck with a 35i or a Coupe then shame really because the GC is a nicer looking car IMO and more practical. But it's good to know going forward! Guess I'll be looking at the coupe then unless economy is as good in the old 35i :'(

Or is the 430i GC a feasable option? I can see some ads for manuals of that but is it a bigf step down? Obviously it is a 4pot not 6.. so not as good sounding.

I got a 440i GC 2019 with 5K miles and love auto

Why the need for manual ?

I only ask because i've had quite a few BMW autos now and find the 440i GC with the ZF box the best thing ever, even my F30 330D which has the same gearbox the 440i just feels better with the B58 engine

I agree the auto is good in my f31 340i and you can have the option of using it as a flappy paddle manual, but........... it's boring and not such an engaging drive as a proper manual. It lacks feeling and personal connectivity by comparison and although I suspect is can change gear quicker than you can in a manual, it does feel slow in comfort modes.

If I drive the wifes Z4 E89 which is manual with the 6 pot engine, although not as quick as the 340i you do feel more connected to the car and have a much more enjoyable and engaging drive.

However, I guess that it also depends on where your daily drive is, if it's in the City with stop start crawl traffic for the most then the ZF8 has to be the one but anywhere else I personally would prefer the manual, which unfortunately seems to be harder to find in a performance car...... unless of course you go Japanese

I just prefer the interaction of properly shifting gears with a clutch and gear stick I guess!
