based on reviews of F30 3er sedan, BMW seems to be loosing the edge in driving feel department. Also, lots of people (me too) expected a new motor released with addition of the 4 series - this does not seem to be happening. And as far as looks, whats been released on F32 doesnt seem to look that exciting...
Just wondering what kind of improvements (besides fuel economy) do you think could be had with a new motor that couldn't be had with tuning the existing N20/N55 motors? Or is that what you meant?

Completely agreed.
It seems like all car makers are trying to make their cars as ugly and as blend as possible. Look at what Toyota, Honda and Nissan is doing.
They are creating some hideous shit of all time.

I think we'll see B47, 48, 67, 68 engines at some point based around the 3 cylinder modular approach that's been demo'd. I'm guessing the latter of those will be what makes the new 35i/d or 40i/d engines/ M performance models.

I wonder if hydraulic steering should be an option. The electric steering isn't bad but very different

well, since these days new technology means more efficient and still more powerful engines - that's what I've been expecting. Now, N20 is new so for sure I wouldn't expect a new engine for baby 3/4er (unless they come up with a 5-cyl n20/55 variant). For the upper end 3/4 series however N55 is outdated.
To your point of "just tune it" I'd say why? It voids the warranty and drops resale value of your car....

F30 is feminine looking w/o M-Sport package. I see 2 F30's parked at work next to each other every day: one regular (base/modern/sport line - not sure) and one M-sport. Totally looking like brother and sister

so yeah non-M-sport F30 is feminine

Okay. I was trying to suggest that maybe BMW could tune it from the factory to have more power and thus avoid developing an entirely new motor. But as long as its an inline 6 I'm good either way

That's a very nice looking car.

I'm curious. Did the photographer just happen to be in the middle of a field when a 4 series happened to drive by? This shoot seems staged.

You guys are missing the point.... E93 owners don't drive with the top up... :P

Looks MEAN and baddazz with the top down. Why would we bother with the top up?!

Obviously unless its raining, or snowing, in that case, car is always stored safely in the garage... I'm liking what I see so far.

That's why you put the top down. Problem solved.

Seriously, I could never not have at least one convertible in my stable. Weather hits 55 and gimme that fresh air pounding my face.

Is it just me or did the diameter of the tailpipes go down from the e9X's to the F3X's? Or maybe they stayed the same but look smaller on the larger frames of the new generation. Whatever it is, it does looks less aggressive.
