Any NEGATIVES of a open box intake?

I know I know. Hot air gets sucked in. But does this TRULY cause a loss in power? I don't care about gains, I just don't want the car to run like crap. I had a bad experience with a aFe intake on my 325i E90 but the sound on the B58 from Agency is so beautiful. I am really just looking for sound with no power loss

Higher IATs. That means time and corrections and loss of power.

No timing corrections here in Texas. Been running a BMS intake through Denver's 95-100 degree summers and Austin, Texas 100-105 summers. She runs like a champ.

Nice. I think you have better fuel than we do here in California.

no power loss, that has been debunked multiple times on different turbo engines.

the agency power has been rebranded to VR performance, we offer it on our website if you are interested in placing an order.

For sure, but you guys have legally consistent E85, which is nice lol.

I also kept the stock bottom intake air box, which blocks some of the heat from the downpipe/exhaust manifold. I think that's a big key. Even the VR/AP open intake includes their metal heat shield, so there's some value in blocking the exhaust heat.

Just watch the intake temperatures. The car pulls timing generally once you hit 100° no matter what the fueling is

Yes, higher IATs. If you aren't consistently tracking the car it isn't the end of the world. If you're like me, you daily drive your car and do hard pulls here and there, the car is more than capable of keeping the IATs low, but not as low as the OEM intake would.

I've got the VR Performance intake on my 440i and the sound it produces is worth the relatively small reduction in power for any given 15 second pull. Here is what it sounds like on my car:

Drive Fast, Drive Safe.

MST Intake has a great sound and takes great care with their designs to not effect the MAF sensor which is generally what causes performance problems.
