"Adding" E85 to tank for timing corrections?

Is it safe to add a gallon or two of E85 to my tank if I have low quality gas? Ie, add 93 octane and I get timing corrections, could I add E85 to boost the octane and get less corrections? Is there a certain point where the car can't run well without an E30 map, or does an E30 map just have a higher octane requirement that can only be had with E85/race gas.

Im not sure if that is how it works or not. Any insight or explanation?

I've asked this same question in other threads and the answer was: adding ~2 gal of E85 to a tank of 93 won't hurt anything and will help reduce timing corrections on a 93oct map, if your 93oct gas isn't as 'good' as it should be.

there is NO 93oct fuel that doesnt have any corrections with any 93oct map

all tuners have this , if you cant stand them add ethanol or toluene .

What tune do you have that is causing timing corrections? And how do you that maybe quite possibly the 93 octane you are using IS good and it’s the tune that causing these corrections? If it’s the tune then you’ll have to go down to a 91 octane map...let me guess the tune you have? Bottom line is if you have a 93 octane OTS tune putting in a top tier 93 octane gas consistently shouldn’t cause consistent timing corrections....maybe occasional ones

If you're gonna add some E to clean up timing, might as well run the E30 map lol.

Can you imagine the corrections on a piggyback, yet people still run them

I tried everything, add in a few gallons of e and the solution was to run e30

Ethanol is very addictive and what i mean by that is, it is an effective and relatively inexpensive fuel that increases performance visa v the octane boost and cooling affect among others. I would say if you have access to it, use it, turbo engines especially tuned are better off with it imo assuming you log and make sure your tune is handling it.
