I would love to see the instructions for this too. I'm a little confused though so I might need a little extra help. Please excuse my newbness.

I have a 2014 F34 with HU_Entrynav (with 2018 maps). I also have Parking Assist, Lane Departure, Adaptive Cruise with Stop and Go, Blind-spot monitoring and the "360 View Camera." This leads me to believe that I have the proper camera but I do not see the option to enable SLI in the iDrive menu. I'm in the EU. So do I still need to buy a module, or is this merely a coding situation?

If you don't have KAFAS, you will need to buy the emulator.

theres an EU company cust0mr3tr0fit (not spelled the way I did) or something along those line on this thread. Thats what I purchased. Theres also chinese clone but have some known issues, such as not showing mph and only working on NBT's. Coding is required. All this info is on this thread.

For those in the US, what year/version of the nav map are you guys running? I have the 2016 map and for the most part has the speed limit data. Trying to prevent from upgrading and losing the SLI since I've read not all map has it.

All what I'd read so far, they changed something within the data storage and the emulator wasnt be able to read that proper => no speed limit displayed.
From 2017/2 and up, cant confirm or judge, havent my bimmer anymore

If it helps, my Chinese emulator is working fine with 2018-4 Evo Europe maps.

I installed the chinese emulator this afternoon and after watching some yt video's about how to code, just tried coding and everything seems to work like a charm.

I installed the latest map updates like a month ago (Europe Next 2019-1 NBT). There seems to be some spots where I get the "---" but that must be stored map data related I suppose.

I didn't code that "Add 8Th VO" because I have no idea what this is. Would this give me problems? I also didn't change the HUD_KIA_SPEED_LIM value since I don't have that thing showing speed on the front window (I assumed this is the line to activate that)

Also those 2 vid gives a decent guideline for how to use the esys to code stuff (not the install; this is explained somewhere on bimmerfest):

(he doesn't show what you need to do to get the speed limit running, but you get to see how it esys works)

I used the search function to find the values needed.

Isn't that difficult indeed, but again a SPECIAL THNX to TTGATOR!!

I've also finally added speed limit info using the emulator. After some tinkering around I finally got it to display on the Kombi.

The unit is listed in km/h however the value is listed in mph (the road I'm on has a 30 mp/h limit.

Does anyone know how I change the unit text to mph? All other units on the Kombi and NBT are in MPH.

The emulator must support the different measure units. Afaik the china clone can't.

It is a shame, that even though the thread has been going for two to three years, the emulators have failed to improve, you would have thought by now that there could be a Chinese one that could say mph or even nothing, that would keep most people happy. The Romanian one is still very expensive for what it is and they still haven't made it plug and play, and that's not to excuse BMW, if most sat nav companies can display the speed limit why can't BMW. Moan over and i will just carry on looking

I don't understand your complaints. Just because the chinese one failed to solve your money saving problems you blame them for improper sales after care? Thats ridiculous.

As above. The Romanian one I have fitted works fine and took about 10 / 15 minutes to fit. Works in both kph and mph and once fitted, I’ve forgotten I even fitted it. It’s been flawless. If you can’t afford that one then the Chinese one is available, but you can already see it can only do kph. That’s the downside. It’s not someone else’s fault the one you can afford doesn’t do what you want.
I quite fancy a mclaren but I don’t blame bmw for not giving me the performance of one

Its more ridiculous, that the Chinese can copy everything under the sun but they can't copy the letters 'mph'

It is not that i can't afford it, far from it, at 200 it's just not value for money, when you could actually buy a sat nav for half the price, where the software comes from, and especially when you can just use Waze, admittedly not as good as the module as the size display is slightly smaller, as i said its poor value for money.
