MPPK & MPE break in?

I had the MPPK & MPE installed yesterday. I tried to search in the forums but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

I understand the MPE break in is 1000 miles and that's mainly to have better sound.

The MPPK is either 1200 or 1500 miles to break in. Am I supposed to be gentle or can I go crazy? I know during this phase the tune is learning your car.

MPPK needs 100miles or less to adapt no break-in period.

I feel diferent immediately when installed MPPK. Maybe I mistake and I just felt more dinamic accelerator pedal calibration.

I have had 3 PPKs installed and it's pretty much instant gratification. MPE takes a while to break in but the combination of the two is a winner in my book

Having also just had my '339' replaced with a '340' (on the same day as Gio!) I can say difference is night and day.

Totally understand why many of you chaps in the US couldn't understand the frustrations of the EU guys, because the 340 version is just sooooo much better sounding (it has a much bigger bore, when compared side by side).

Still not sure why there were two 'versions' in the first place but hey ho.

Glad you guys got the right one, did they make you pay for it all over again or there was a negotiated discount for the new one? It's worth it in my view

Well, I wrote (ok, emailed, my dealership who forwarded the email on and chased up on my behalf) to BMW explaining my disappointment, pointing out the two versions and recent 'removal' of the 339 part from the EU market (anyone buying an M Performance exhaust in the EU today will get the same 340 version as the US), particularly from the viewpoint of having spent a lot of money on M Performance parts, and feeling I'd be sold an inferior product.

They've replaced it at no extra cost, which has just confirmed in my mind that, without any doubt, my next car will also be my 2nd BMW.....

(and I'll be going back to the same dealership when that time comes)

I have to agree that BMW does seem to own up to mistakes that they have made without much effort from the customer. This has been my experience as well.

I was at the dealership today getting my rocker panels fixed for vibrations heard from outside while playing music. I had a chance to listen to both my car and an E9X 335i. I can certainly confirm that my car sounded way better than the E9X due to the MPE

Exhaust takes about 1,000 miles after break in you'll notice the different sound, especially in Sport and Sport+. Comfort and Eco modes it's still fairly quiet unless you turn the music off and put the windows down.

MPPK you'll feel immediately.

My first impressions so far:

The BOV is more pronounced on 1st-4th gear. Much more burble. The exhaust has a more defined note when on the gas. Idle is pretty quiet except during cold starts. In terms of speed, it does seem more sensitive on the throttle. I haven't gone WOT yet so we'll see. I cannot experience the whole "day and night" thing that others in my shoe have experienced. Still needs a little more break in time as I only have 33 miles on it so far.

Hi guys!
Yesterday I drove an F33 435i with an Eismann exhaust with 4 pipes: the sound was simply AMAZING!!!! My 340 disappeared in front of it!
For me its sound is even better then the Akrapovich system! Fantastic, really fantastic, believe me!

MPPK & MPE on 2015 435i

Glad I ran into this threat. I was wondering if it was me or car actually needed some time for MPPK to take effect after installation. Had M performance exhaust installed couple of months ago and yesterday took my 435i to install the MPPK. The Sport displays updated to 400 from 320hp This can't be right, but I don't mind looking at that figure either. I was expecting to see something like 355 as MPPK supposed to add 35HP's. Anyway, I did notice longer burbles in sport mode but Comfort and Eco Pro feel pretty much the same and I didn't feel any drastic increase in performance, but it is only 35 HP... Hopefully after few hundred miles, I'll notice things as described in comments.

I honestly wish I can do it all over again. I would do MPE but I'd skip MPPK and go straight to BM3. Only good thing I got out of MPPK was the intake

what you will notice is the 6th gear torque limit of 400Nm...

it is definitely noticeable.

you will see every gear jumping to 450Nm and 6th gear seeing only 400Nm

3rd gear will show max of 430Nm
