In case anyone has a similar idea…

Does it work? So far, not really. The light strip is too thick for the OEM strip. Waiting on an aftermarket led strip from China, hoping this might be a bit thicker to accommodate the led strip rather than then filament light guide.

Also, even if it works I'm not sure the LED density is enough to get even coverage.

All said, still glad I tried. I'll update this if I manage to get something working.
