..and pee off re typo They say geniuses struggle to get their thoughts out quickly enough and have terrible handwriting and typing. Maybe. Car was RRP which is think is £33,900 ish for a Circuit Pack. In other news at least 4 cars have been written off in the U.K. already! Apparently quite a few have been on the 'unaccompanied test drives' oh dear. Insurance will be rising.

Ah, I missed the connection to the car fund although I think last we heard it was up slightly into the six figure bracket.

Well finally finally finally, going to have a little test drive of one.
Potential for this to be Mrs JustChris car of choice in 2023, names still down but no 2022 allocation. Local has a non Circuit Pack car in demo so why not just have a look

Me and the missus had a test drive of a Circuit Pack car that was enough to put us off, it found bumps we didn't know existed on our local roads. Your experience may be better with a non-CP car / you may be more tolerant.
Also, as mentioned in some reviews, the view below the rear view mirror is marginal and that's with me at 5'10". |

Congrats on being optimal human height also, 5'10 There a few reasonable 'hacks' one is just to file a small piece out of the mirror bracket and it allows it to go another inch or so higher. Cheers to Harry's garage for that one. Also I think the U.K. spec might change so what for 2023 cars, price up but I've a feeling they will allow more spec across each pack now. Let's see how Friday goes first. Genuinely just intrigued now after all this time. Even the cars name didn't end up being GR4 by the time of launch but as per thread title.

Slightly off-topic but the GR86 coupe sounds quite appealing to me, especially with a list price at around £30k; trouble is, a lot of other people obviously thought the same as allegedly the whole UK allocation was sold within a couple of hours of the order book opening! So you're probably down to either landing on a cancellation or paying a premium to someone who's looking to flip the car for a quick profit....

Toyota are really doing some great stuff at the moment, the Yaris is universally lauded and the GR86 looks a great package too.
I believe my Supra is currently on route to Grimsby as we speak and should be with me in the next few weeks ........ I am just hoping it performs like Toyotas other GR products. |

Yes, agreed. Just goes to show how the right person at the top and their beliefs really does flow down, that GR team.....N24 5 years in a row now. Great to see. Such a shame though that supply does seem so limited, in the case of the hand assembled Yaris, maybe purposefully so to meet a minimal loss business case!
Will post some thoughts tomorrow but it might as well ready......excellent but small car. Gearbox was a joy.

I'm struggling to find the love for mine. Lots of road noise is a big issue for me. It is exceptionally fast down a bumpy B-road, but arguably too good and lacks a bit drama.
Track day next weekend and then final decision - keep or sell. (and that is all without even thinking about practicality) |

From a quick look in the showroom ages ago, this might be the 1st coupe car I've seen where if you move the front seat to access the rear..... there is no access handle and memory position for it. You literally have to use the actual normal seat fore and aft adjustment and maybe also the backrest one too. A bit bonkers!

Then you have all these things on a "Circuit" car that arguable you wouldnt need - adaptive cruise, steering assist, keyless access (key always live though!). But then it executes an overtake before my X3M has even thought about changing gear and when you point it at a B-Road you will look at the speedo and fear your licence. It revs so sweet and quickly. Fake noise is actually ok and really good at letting you know where you are in the rev range. be interesting to hear your review today |
