I flew from Montana to Portland OR to buy a 440xi drive M-sport, track handling... with 6MT. Not new, but a CPO with 21k miles. I would have flown a lot further to snag such a rare X-drive 440 coupe. Hard to know for sure, but I likely paid a premium for the 6MT

We once jumped on a plane to Florida to buy an apparently rare MB c300 cabriolet. We ended up not buying it. It went into limp mode during the test drive. It only had 10,000 miles on it. But that was a fun trip.

I think what may have to do with it is that 6mt will help the value by a few grand with private sale especially if you list on an enthusiast forum.
They might've had no clue, some of these dealerships don't give a shit about these cars and what's special about some of them etc. Also, dealers are notorious for low trade ins, it's always been like that. Nothing new. |

I've decided to sell my car private party and am closing in on a deal. Decided to buy a new M2 Comp.

I've been having this same issue. I've been shopping for something off road capable and narrowed down to a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and a 4Runner TRD. No dealership will give me anything close to KBB or NADA trade in value. The guy at the jeep dealership showed me a text between him and his friend at a BMW dealership who told him the 4 series GC is not a popular model and would most likely be sold at auction. It's incredibly frustrating as I've grown to regret owning this car. Wish I just kept my e92 at this point.
