Smile F34 confession

After nearly five years of ownership I have traded my g34 328 GT M Sport Plus with all the toys for a g20 330i with every option possible other than a tow bar!

Impressions...the G20 is a firmer ride , the on paper slightly more powerful engine feeps significantly more powerful and the economy is quite s lot better on a long run....my first real trip out was a 460 mile mainly motorway run with Driver Assist switched on (its fantastic for motorway use) at 70mph and I got 47.9mpg without making any special, effort.

The f34 seats are more armchair like but the g20 is comfortable enough. Plenty of legroom in the back but not even close to the cavernous f34, same for the boot...but I can still get my golf clubs in. Its nice having separate climate controls in the back for passengers.

I really miss the panoramic sunroof on the f34' that on the g20 is pretty big compared to most but nothing like the f34.

Some regret at seeing the f34 go, especially as it only had 21000 miles on it...but I got a decent trade in value for it against an almost new G20.

Hopefully an f34 equivalent on the new platform will, arrive in due course and that should be a cracker.

I still don't understand why the f34 remains a rare beast, it's a brilliant four seater with tons of space in the back and boot.

The F34 is rare because the average idiot wants an SUV.

all good things have to and 5 years is great!. Regarding why F34 is rare unlike SUV's etc a saying comes to mind
'the eyes cannot see what the mind does not know'
Wish you snd your G20 many 1000s of happy miles of ownership ahead.

5 years 21k?!?

Congrats on the new ride. I had it as a loaner last month, def a sweet ride. Been riding in the 540d for the last week. Although I love it, I need all the extra room.

I'm at 5 years and 18k. I'll keep it until it's at least 10 years old, hopefully by then the pendulum will have swung back to offering practical cars to those of us who want them.

Hahah nice, work from home much?

I purchased my 2016 f34 last year with 16k on it. Warranty ends in March and I’m at 43k. Been on the fence about trading it in lately.

Jeez not much driving. I've got about 5 years and 75k miles. I'm quite sad that they decided to axe the F34. I'd take this any day over a SUV.

Owning an on-line business has its perks. Half the miles I drive are to the golf course and back, five days a week, one of those perks.

The GT feels like a car and feels small to drive though it is as long as the X5 and in the 335 guise probably weighs as much too!

I just got my 2016 328iX GT back in May. Unlike most Americans, I've always loved hatchbacks and I didn't realize BMW had them until I started looking for a new/used car. I was close to getting a 4 series, but it felt a bit too small. I liked the X3 ok, but glad I held out for the GT.

Confirmed no replacement of the F34.

Just had my 335d X Drive remapped to 364bhp and 620 torque. She's slightly quick now

Oh how I wish we could get the diesel here

Oh well at least they didn't axe the car before making a version with the B58 engine. I'm definitely picking one up when they get a bit cheaper. Maybe I will have two F34s lol.
