Hi everyone and Hi Shawn,

just registered and I will cut directly to the chase.

Im trying to update my Gracenote.....

My F01 built in 10/2012 GNDB HDD Version: 3 - 01/12
My local BMW Dealer gave me a USB Drive with a whole lot of data as an "Update".
My Car doesn`t recognize it.
I have just updated everything else in the car, as I do annualy (except Gracenote up to now). Connected Drive SW is up to Date, Navigation is up to Date.
Gracenote is not up to date.
The USB Drives I am using work fine, I used them for the other SW Updates just last week, and music from the USB drive is recognized as well.

Since the whole data package is 4,52 GB in size, I can not burn on a DVD (at least the ones I have can store only 4,38 GB).

So I was hoping that my Dealer just gave me "too much data" or the path on the USB is incorrect.

The Path is: BMWData\CDDB\GRACENOTE

In that Folder are 2 files.
content_evo.xml
content_evo.xml.sign

and another folder "Gracenote"

So I don´t know what to do? Has anyone an Idea what the problem might be?

@Shawn: Maybe you could post/send me a link to the most recent GNDB Version available to you? Thanks in advance.

FYI
I attached a jpg to show you a side by side comparison from the files in the DL Shawn kindly provided (right side of the pic) and the files I got from my dealer (left side of the pic).

First you notice is that there are 17 files on the right and only 12 files on the left. So this is probably one reason, why my NBT didn´t even recognize the files.
Only helpful thing is, that some of the files my dealer provided, are bigger in size. And since they are databases, bigger could mean newer!?

Since I have no clue how to check that, or use it any meaningful way, I thought I post it here and if anyone can make something useful for everybody of it, that would be great.

This somebody must tell me then how I get the data to him so he can work with it.

Considering CIC GNDB has not been updated since 07-2015, works only for DVD Audio and nothing more, and must be burned to DVD to install, it hardly seems worth updating.

BMW has NOT updated GNDB for CIC and NBT since:

CIC - 07-2015
NBT - 03-2017

It's not worth updating these any longer, and if car has been programmed by dealer ince the release dates, it should already have the latetst GNDB installed.

I have put the Gracenote folder, content_evo.xml and content_evo.xml.sign on a fat32 USB stick and it doesn't recognise the update.
The gracenote version I have downloaded is NBT-EVO EU 03-2020.
Any ideas? Do I need to burn a DVD?

Copy the Gracenote folder and the 2 files to folder named "BMWData\CDDB\GRACENOTE" on Fat32 Formatted USB Drive.

Or it should be:
BMWData\CDDB\GRACENOTE\Gracenote folder and the xml file?
