Screen squeak
The screen on top of the dash in my car squeaks when going over bumps. The dealer has removed and refitted it and added “padding” to quieten it which was fine for a while but now it’s back.
Can I spray the edge between it and the dash with something like silicone spray or even maybe try and add some silicone grease as I’m sure that’s it where they meet that’s causing the issue. Reason I’ve resisted is I’m not too sure if either the spray or grease might harm the surfaces. I’ve heard of the surfaces being eaten away which I obviously don’t want. Any help would be appreciated. |

I had some PTFE spray so gave it a try making sure to wipe away any excess. Didn’t really make that much of a difference and now I can hear something else rattling 😤

My other thought, as I have had my screen out like 10k times, would be very thin adhesive felt strips or foam strips at the point of contact.

Yes I think that might work as I’m sure it’s the plastic to plastic rubbing that causes the squeaks. The top of the frame on mine also squeaks where the front and back of the surrounds meet.
