X1 E84 N55 Dispersion Valve: "Go Fast Bits" vs Turbosmart
Hi all,
Not a car expert - new field for me. Have an X1 35i, N55, can no longer hear the turbo. Looking to replace the diverter valve. Seems to be two main options from what I can tell, the "Go Fast Bits DV+" DV+ Link Or a Turbosmart plumbed back valve Turbosmart Link Any advice suggestions on which one to pick? FWIW, I'm not really a personal fan of the "boy racer" "PFFFFFFT" BOV externally vented type of sound, Like this video But when the car was younger, the twin scroll turbo made this beautiful sound, more of a WIIIIIIRRRRRR, a spin, a much nicer more complex sound (to my ears). Not the "I just took the cap off a massive bottle of shaken coke" sound. (Sorry for formatting, first post) |

+1, between GFB and turbosmart plumb back, turbosmart seems to be the better option nowadays.
GFB was first to market, but there have been some concerns raised about longevity and potential need for maintenance. For turbosmart, i would do some searching about a potential whine/squeal/??? sound it makes as compared to stock. Forgot how it was described, but it was discussed in a thread a little while back. |
