Lorcan, do you offer a fitting service at Rossiters? I'm after these springs and some decent spacers for my 440.

Cheers

We are near King's Lynn in Norfolk. We have a dealer in Milton Keynes though - Deutschtech.

That’s quite expensive that is mate. Have you looked on the list of Rossiters recommended fitters for one of them local to you??

I paid a lot less than what you’ve been quoted when I had mine done in December

I finally got my ACSs installed today. For the first couple of miles I could not notice any difference in comfort, both in "Comfort" mode and in "Sport" (adaptive suspension).

There are 2 things that surprised me though. I posted already in another thread, but thought you guys might have some observations, as this one is ACS specific:

1. The front got lowered with almost precisely 20mm
The rear - with 30mm

2. The rear right sits about 4mm lower than the rear left! (I am not in the UK, so left steering wheel, if it makes any difference).

Unfortunately I only measured one side before the mod, so I don't know if this has always been the case.
Has anyone measured both sides?
I found some thoughts here: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1355149
and https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1004365
Somehow it does not sound very believable to me though, as the front is pretty much even on both sides.
My fuel tank is almost full (45L)

Cheers.

It's good that you didn't notice any difference in ride comfort. Regarding the ride height, BMW allow a tolerance of 10mm right/left no matter which market you live in. If you have any concerns, please contact your dealer. This is NOT a result of the springs.

Can you post pics? This is exactly the problem that is holding me back from getting my F31 335d dropped - reverse-rake. I'd honestly be happy with just a mild drop of 10mm on the front alone, or even 20F 10R, but the though of increasing the rake? I know I'd regret spending the money.

I used to look out of my bedroom window at my old pre-LCI E90 Msport and smile to myself every night - it just had the perfect stance (I had 12mm spacers at the back). I just don't have the same buzz looking at this one. Should have just got the 330 sDrive.

Of course, I forget what it looks like when I smash the throttle - what an engine! Ridiculous!

I will, need to take some first

There is definitely a (mild) reverse rake now, although it is questionable whether it is actual or fictional, as you can only judge by the cutouts of the fenders, which are not necessarily identical front and back.

This said, what surprised me as I wrote was the difference in drop front and rear. I am aware BMWs have a slight reverse rake by design, but why would the ACS springs amplify that...? I expected approximately even drop, as many have reported around here. I don't know whether I should hope for the springs (especially the front) to settle a bit.

There are H&R springs you can go for which drop the front more than the rear. This definitely ensures no (visual) rake.

I selected ACS on purpose though, both due to their good reputation and support and because I did not want to change the front and back height unevenly from stock, even if there is some reverse rake by design... (which seems to have backfired a bit).
