Keyless entry not working SOLVED!!

Hello guys, I have a 2012 F30 330D. (Uk) over the last 5 months the passenger side keyless entry has been temperamental with locking. But as of today it no longer locks or unlocked (keyless).

I've tried using my spare key but to no avail.

Is my passenger side keyless system dead or a simple fix?

If it needs replacing would the new door handle need coding or is it just a simple case of swap the old one for a new (or used) one?

Thanks

How old is your battery? Not the fob, the car.

Probably as old as the car.. 2012, I took it for a service the other week and they said the batter was low. Do you think that could be the issue? Surely it would effect the divers side too??

It's possible that the low battery is the issue. Even if it's not you need to get a new battery anyway, six years is about as much as you can expect, and then you can eliminate it as a possible cause of the entry problem one way or the other.

So if I replace the battery, and still have no success, would I need to get the new door handle coded or just a straight replacement?

There are a few items that might be causing the problem, the first step is the battery.
It doesn't seem that a new handle would need coding.

The door handle was at fault.

Replaced it with a 2nd hand one from ebay. And now all is good.

Easy to replace the handle with help from guides on YouTube.
