TBH, I am surprised that there are so few posters above 100k. But then mine's one of the earliest F30s (2012) and I'm not even at 100k yet so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Im at 68k Miles (n26) and so far have replaced the turbo, Injectors, Spark Plugs, Coils, and the Driveshaft. Thats pretty much it so far. For me this hasn't been a reliable car, But this is my second f30 328i, My first being a n20 and the motor blew in it at 70k miles...

68k on my 2014 428xi. Absolutely no problems (engine wise).
Bought it as a CPO at 44k. I religiously change my oil every 5-7k. Other than standard oil changes I've changed the spark plugs once so far. I have no idea what else I should do to maintain this puppy. I've read multiple posts about changing the AT fluid. The opinion at e90 post was to not change it. When I had my first e90 328, I called the dealer to see if they would change it for me and they suggested not doing it because it will dislodge things in the transmission and cause problems. That car took me all the way to 168k before it was totaled (rear ended). Granted that was the N52 engine but I believe BMW designs these to last.

I just completed the transmission filter and partial fluid change on my daughter's 2013 328i. It is straightforward if you have a way to get the car off the ground a couple of feet. She has 70k on her car. Fluid looked fine. There was some very fine metal dust on the magnets in the pan which is pretty normal. It is a two step process - refill cold. Then warm fluid and top off. The new oil pan came with new bolts and torque sequence.
Her car has been trouble free. Only problem was fuel fill door refused to unlock. Had to use manual unlock in trunk. |

I owned mine Approved used from 60kmiles to 124k miles. Not a single unanticipated issue.
No issues other than routine maintenance Exhaust flexi section gone at 124k and sold it onwards though could have repaired the same and held on to it. |

Bringing this thread back....
2013 MY 328i XDrive, Automatic Transmission N26 Motor 134k Miles The motor had catastrophic failure 4 days ago. All maintenance completed when it was supposed to be. No signs of anything leading up to it. Went to lunch, was pulling back into a space and the car made a knocking noise and stalled. The car went into Park and wouldn't not come out of park and would not restart. Waiting to hear back from the dealer. This is a widely known issue that I just found out about. There is a class action lawsuit happening at the moment. Before this, the car was fine. Had the issue with the valve cover where the emissions gasket tears and they replaced that under the extended warranty. Purchased this car as the second owner. It had 50k Miles on it at time of purchase a little less than 2.5 years ago. I am not an aggressive driver but do drive "spirited" sometimes. Never launched the car, never beat on the car, just accelerate quickly from time to time. Also, I almost always disable the Auto Start/Stop feature (I hate it). |

Although nothing to do with your car's problem, I'm curious whether you ever serviced the transmission? If yes, at how many miles on the odo?

Have not done anything service wise with the transmission. I'll probably do that this week though. I am waiting to hear back from BMW but I am not hopeful that they will be taking care of this problem so I'll likely be pulling the motor myself and servicing the trans at the same time.

Got 182K miles on my 2014 320ix.
Running mods since about 110K miles and no issues to speak of. Making over 300 ft/lbs all day and dusted a 435i last night, and I gave them a head start. Just last week, I started having an issue where the AC leaks water back into the cabin (possibly a clogged drain). Other than that it has been 99% normal maintenance except for an iDrive failure while under warranty. It broke again last year, so I'm planning to swap it out for a more capable unit anyway. Granted I am a maintenance maniac and do oil changes every 6K since 110K. Trans serviced 2X (60K and 120K) and due for another now that we are at 180K. Swapped brake fluid and both diff fluids with the best stuff I could find.

91,341 miles
7000 mile oil changes Never beat on her, occasionally pedal down to know I'm alive. Tires, brakes, rotors, filters, and other consumables Plugs done at 50K Suspension done at 90K Three minor problems: gas tank breather valve replaced at 90K, horns went at 85K and driver's side mirror motor died at 80K. The later two occurred after carwashes in the dead of winter. Has seen seven harsh Canadian winters and tons of salt, and NO rust. Motor runs as strong as day 1 ! Not messing with the transmission--it's faultless. When it goes, the car goes. The only niggling issue is the front bumper needs a repaint from highway driving and my air conditioning needs a recharge. N20, rwd, Luxury Line bone stock, except gloss black OEM performance grills, lol February 14, 2012 Munich build ! She's my Valentine and there's no reason to believe that she can't run indefinitely. The key is everything in moderation, with occasional bouts of spirited driving to shake off the cobwebs. |

Not at 100K yet but thought I'd share anyway...2013 328i XDrive...see my signature for mods.
Currently at 70K miles and the following maintenance has been recently performed by myself with the exception of the tranny flush and fill: Replaced plugs @ 69K Brake fluid flushed @ 62K (I try to do this every 20K). Thermostat and Water Pump @ 64K. I did this myself because the quote from the local indy shop was way too much...as you can imagine they were overcharging me for parts. Ended up finding an OEM water pump on eBay for $210, thermostat for $50 and antifreeze for $20. I ran a diagnostic via the Carly app and it showed a blockage in coolant system which most likely was the thermostat stuck open...I wasn't aware of the extended thermostat warranty at that time. Being proactive I ended up replacing water pump as well...it will eventually fail as they all do. Cabin filter replaced @ 62K (performed every 20K) Transmission fluid and filter replaced @ 65K. This was done by the local indy shop who has BMW certified techs on staff. Labor was about $280 and I supplied all fluid (ZF Lifeguard 8 / tech used about 6 liters), ZF pan/filter and hardware. Parts were the most significant cost so I sourced and purchased everything myself....eBay was a great source and I got some pretty good deals So far, so good...no issues at this time. Motor oil changed every 5K...Castrol Syntech 0W-30 which is becoming harder to find lately. Overall, the tranny fluid was my biggest concern as I plan on owning this car for a few more years.
