I run Chevron for 2000 miles, the switch to Shell for 2000 miles and alternate back to Chevron, etc. Been doing this for the last 5 years in my BMW and Porsche and have had very stable performance with both with a slight edge in mileage with Chevron, but not that much. Each type of top tier gas has its benefits and its drawbacks. I've heard good and bad things about Costco gas, but I have never tried it. I know someone who uses it all the time and as KGB said, they haven't noticed anything bad about it.

Higher elevations can run fine on 91. I've noticed the change driving across the country - one you get above 2000' (or so), 93 disappears.

Oh yeah - I run Exxon's 93 Top Tier gas. Shell isn't very common where I live. The only other Top Tier brand here is Velaro.

Chevron Supreme only. I'd rather run out of gas before I pump cheap gas. I'd pump V power too as the only alternative.

V power price seems pretty competitive. I signed up for the rewards program to get 5 cents off a gallon. You just download the app and create a free account and you get a discount. You can also use your Ralph's card to get a discount.

You can get something like 10 cents to a dollar off a gallon with swyping your Ralph's card at the pump before your payment method but only for 1 fill up a month.

I've found that Cosco and Arco are about the same price sometimes arco is cheaper and sometimes cosco. Might be worth it if you're already a cosco member.

We have only 91 regardless of elevation in so cal. Doesn't matter if you're in Malibu or Big Bear.

Just filled up a tank after getting a low fuel warning after having filled up exclusively with Mobil for awhile since I can use Apple Pay with them through the app. I liked not having to swipe a physical card at the pump which makes a card skimming theft impossible. But I was having issues getting their rewards program to credit me discounted or free gas so looking to switch and get discounted gas at shell instead.

I pay about 8% more per litre for premium fuel (usually Shell V Power or the BP equivalent). I get about 11-12% more miles from a tank if I drive sensibly. So the maths says it's a good thing...

I run Costco gas (premium) and it's Top Tier so good enough for me! In fact, they state their regular has the same additives as the premium. But I do stick with Premium.
I have found Shell to be $0.10 - $0.20 more than most places.

Here in metro Philly, we don't have many premium fuels available. Sunoco is local, but they aren't even Tier One. We do have some Shell, but they're few and far between.

Exxon and Valero are the only frequently seen Tier One brands.

When I lived out in Oregon, Chevron was my brand.

I run Shell or Conoco only...usually Shell. WAsnt sure if it was just a placebo effect, but my car definitely seems to run better than on other gas

No matter what gas brand I put on the car... if I drive like a grandma I can get the EPA mpg on paper. And then again if I drive like a BMW driver then i got shitty mpg.

Shitty mpg is 19 for B58 and 22 for B48.

I'm trying to avoid ticket territory and stay below the speed limit but I launch quick and occasionally accelerate for passing power. Not necessarily going out of my way to get the worst fuel economy. I switch between sport, sport+ and comfort frequently as well as driving in manual vs auto S or M modes.
