Lumbar Support in bmw

When you adjust the lumbar support in a bmw, is it supposed to make some sort of noise? When I press the button on the side of the passenger and drivers seat, nothing happens(to my knowledge). I had assumed there would be a motor sound as it re positions the lumbar support.
This is on a 2016 340i.

Assuming you have lumbar support...yeah you will fill the motor vibrate a little when your sitting or hear it when your really listening close.

It will cost around $500 to fix out of warranty. Just got mine fix under warranty but my SA told me that much. You can do it your self. Parts cost around $249 to 329 depend where your buying it.. it comes with relay included. They are not separate (even tho they are separate visually they are sold together. I already ask bmwparts.

Besides hearing it, you should feel it. If you can feel it, I wouldn’t worry about hearing it.

I don't really feel anything happen when i press the different lumbar support buttons. I'll fiddle around and see if anything actually happens when I press the buttons.

I don't think anything happens when I click the lumbar support, but I'll try some more things to make sure. Will probably mention this during my next annual service.

Are you still under warranty then bring it to the dealer.

If not there are plastic tab under the plastic cover behind the seat. Remove the plastic and examine yourself what is wrong. The motor aka air pump nuematic should be inside a bag with clear hose going to a solenoid. Open it and examine what is not working... Possible it's just a air tube lose on the pump.

Have a go at it and post back.

It does take a rather long time to feel anything is going on, at first I thought it was not working but after some 5 odd sec you start feeling the movement.
