FeatureInstaller tripped B7F8E5 fault code?

I recently added CarPlay via FeatureInstaller+ENET. Then, I used the same tool to go back to OEM/stock.

Now when I pull fault codes from the car, I see the B7F8E5 component tampering fault stored and it cant be cleared. It's showing up when I do a Vehicle Test in ISTA and FeatureInstaller:

The two other faults are expected since I VO coded 6NS to the car earlier.

Is there any way to get rid of the B7F8E5 fault in the event I need to take the car to the dealer?

Fixed

I figured it out. I guess the CarPlay addition left the SSH/Telnet port open on the head unit, the fault will be persistent and stayed active until the port was closed. I went into ISTA and there was a test plan to close up the port.

The more you know...

Is it safe to close then? and can feature installer run it again when ssh is closed?

Yes. I closed the port right after the fault tripped from enabling CarPlay. Recently, I removed CarPlay using FeatureInstaller and the fault never occurred. So I only had to do this one time ever.

So you have carplay activated and you closed the ssh and after that you didn't have problem to remove it with feature installer?

because now I am having carplay and fake fsc codes in the car, and error is present. I want to know can i closed the ssh now to disable the error but I do not want to loose the option to run the feature installer and go back to oem state?

Correct. This was my exact scenario. Closing the port shouldnt impact FeatureInstaller.

Another note: I put the car back to stock in preparation for a dealer visit. They upgraded my car's I-Step resulting from other work. They didnt complain. I also decided I wont be putting CarPlay back on my car because I dont like CarPlay all that much and it's a minor hassle to bring back to stock if needed.

BMW really killed the user interface for CarPlay. The only way to use the UI is by rotating the iDrive controller. The rotary dial can go up, down, left, and right, but you cant use them to navigate around CarPlay. So if I want to switch playlists in Apple Music or zoom in/out of Google Maps, I need to endlessly rotate the iDrive controller.
