I am hoping that this comes with good instructions as I am not sure where all this plugs in to. It does look plug and play compared to the usual one though with wires sticking about.
The seller just updated it with the actual product photograph on that link. |

Based on pictures of install from Dang3r in this thread and pictures of the product from Gabreigns, I think I understand how this emulator is wired and needs to be attached.
Pretty cool as you do not have to splice anything. The 12 pin male from the car goes in to the female socket of the SLI adapter plug on the top left of the picture. The 12 pin male plug from the SLI goes to KOMBI(dash) unit of the car. This is just a guess... Last edited by Hair Führer; 06-06-2017 at 04:54 PM.. |

Hi,
Yes the seller told me the original plug from instrument panel plugs into emulator, then emulator plugs directly into dash. Seems pretty simple, would take longer to remove dash and do the coding. Cheerz Quote:

Install vice versa and ensure not to shove the cluster above the harnesses, this occurs if they are not stowed properly before reinstallation. The Emulator itself is indeed just plugged between the already present connectors and you would have no problems to identify them. Hair Führer Im not pretty sure if your avatar should have a deeper meaning aside from the weirdo who represent it... But also as a German I dont appreciate the "Führer", that could be lead to some unwanted cliches about us. Just thinking...

Ha! I understand the concern. I had this username and avatar before the "weirdo" became president and he was in the news for his fake hair... Not to get too political. |

Placed an order.
So I VO coded 8TH and the FDL coded Kombi and HU-NBT. I did get a check engine light but the fault codes had nothing related to it. After clearing the fault codes the check engine light went away. Not sure if the coding caused it as the car was just sitting for 2 weeks and it had other fault codes like low battery voltage and so on. So I learned that I might need a new 92 Amp battery. Fun. It seemed that the car was throwing an error saying that it was expecting a signal from KAFAS. Makes sense. So once I receive the unit and plug it in the error message should hopefully go away. Right now I only see the 3 dashes. Which means the coding worked. |

I think it would do it from your nav data, as when I coded this on mine, it showed the rad circle with white background.

So being in the US you have set for the ECE speed limit info display. So for example... If the speed limit on the highway is 55 mph, does the speed limit display show 55 mph on display or does it show 55 kmph on the speed limit info display? Because most of Europe is on kilometers per hour. Or does it convert that 55 mph into kilometers per hour and display that instead. |

Hi,
I hope to have received SLI emulator by the weekend, I'll install as soon as I receive. Is there any point in further pictures, unless some would like to see how it connects with the upgraded plugs? Cheerz |

Update.
So I received my unit as pictured on the ebay site from China. And yes... it is plug and play so No more splicing! It's pretty interesting. When there is no speed limit it just shows 3 dashes. When I am on a road that is a back alley it shows the ECE speed limit info with the 3 dashes In it. Once on a road with a speed limit it displays the speed limit as is in the ECE circle. So the HUD shows the speed limit but the instrument cluster shows in kmph. Can we code the kombi instrument cluster to show miles? Btw, there are no jumpers in this unit on the inside. |
