Turner motorsports valved exhaust

Hey guys, I just stumbled upon the Turner motorsports valves exhaust and it looks to be a new offering from them.

Was wondering if anyone has one or placed an order on one, curious to know how to sounds.

Looks nice and beefy, unfortunately it will not bolt-up directly to the B58 powered 340 GT, but seems to fit all other models.

The tailpipe tips are a bit large for my preferences (4" = 101 mm).

Interestingly enough, the 1st photo (blue outline with dual side-exit tailpipes) is incorrect and is likely for a 328/330 model.
Mid-pipe section has no resonators and the muffler itself looks tiny - I wonder how loud this might be compared to stock, Remus, MPPSK, etc.

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...haust/?pdk=Agg

"To create a cat-back exhaust for this incredible engine the changes happen right after the downpipe. We replaced the factory oval pipe with our full 3.0" T304 stainless steel piping. The true 3.0" exhaust makes its way through the center and rear of the car without the center muffler or resonator to keep flow to a maximum! With smooth mandrel bent transitions our exhaust passes perfectly under the rear subframe for a factory equivalent fit. Positioned in the rear of the car is our signature B58 muffler with beautiful inlet and outlet piping that creates the perfect exhaust tuning. Featuring relief cut slip joints and fabricated sheet metal brackets the exhaust can be fully adjusted and mounted seamlessly in the factory locations. Dual 4.0" exhaust tips are optioned to fill out the open space in the rear diffuser and complete the rear profile of the vehicle."

Curious if this lines up with a Dinan midpipe...

Looks like it comes with it's own midpipe.

I reached out to ECS if this exhaust can be sold just as an axle back and if it could fit with a Dinan midpipe without modification and they confirmed, no and no.

I’m still considering this exhaust, but really would like to hear some sound clips before I make a decision.

if they answer, can you ask if they have sound clips? very curious about this exhaust, seems like a great deal. I'm not looking for anything crazy loud though

I don't think $1062 for a Stainless valved muffler and entirely new stainless mid-pipe sounds too bad?

Remus valved muffler is about the same price and isn't stainless, and does not include a mid-pipe.

Mid-pipes alone are $600-800.

So to me this sounds like a pretty solid deal.

not familiar with it but not the biggest fan of the design

When the valves are closed, air is directed through the muffler from one side and then has the option of exiting through three different paths (2 on the left and 1 on the right) don't really like that as it does not produces an even sound.

With the valves open, part of the airflow bypasses the muffler entirely , while the remainder passes through the muffler and then splits, with two exit paths on the left and one on the right. This setup likely results in an uneven sound profile when the valves are open, with one side being noticeably quieter and the other louder.

This weird style of routing makes no sense to me.. all this unnecessary piping and abrupt turns.. it's like that one company that has like an extra 3 or so feet of pipe just to make it work.. I just don't get it.

I agree from the sound clip video posted above, it does not seem to have the usual B58 rowdy sound - the sound is different, can't quite put my finger on it but it is different. Maybe it's going to the 3" round tubing that changes the sound?

From a design standpoint, they seem to have spent a lot of time and energy developing this, so surprised that it does not mention any HP/TQ increase (i know this is negligible in an a B58 exhaust), weight savings, etc. as benefits.

Still, I'm glad there is another option on the market for B58 exhausts, and hopefully someone will try it out soon so we can all have some additional feedback.

Agreed. Sort of violates all other airflow designs to minimize turbulence and increase flow for best power.

I was gonna order it in 2 weeks so very relevant info for me, well not much info to be had on the thread yet honestly. I have a vrsf catless dp and am very curious if that will make this exhaust extra cool or extra disappointing? I have the b58 valved stock exhaust and wanted to retain the valve functionality and searched quite a bit online and i think the next cheapest cat-back i could find that i was considering was like 2500$. I know they say you get what you pay for a lot of times in life, but I'm really hoping this thing offers solid results and offers a nice better sounding than stock sound with throttle open but still retains that stockish stealth mode when valve is closed. Plus the 4" black tips alone look sweet and will hopefully be a nice match to the rear valiance diffuser thingy.

let us know how it goes! I'm in the exact same boat as you with the same exhaust

I bought the Active Autowerke cat-back exhaust, and it sounds great. I cut the valve out of my stock and welded it into the left elbow for the tip on the AA exhaust (it has a removable elbow that connects to the muffler on one side, and the exhaust tip is on the other side). That works great. Car is quieter when I want it to be, louder other times.

that's awesome, if i was more mechanically inclined i think i would give that a shot. i finally found 1 shop out here that would touch my bmw and i specifically inquired about doing exhaust things a month back when i was there and the guy is like the only certified bmw tech working for a indy shop on island so he is super by the book, he told me if it didn't have the japan jdm exhaust approval sticker then he couldn't do anything for me. LOL, all the speed shops here won't touch a bmw and the only one willing to is super by the books. sucks for me but maybe i can go find this japan j-dot approved or whatever sticker and peel it off a display exhaust at a speed shop and stick it to the side of one i buy from the states

but this is why i am going to do cat-back since the install doesn't require drilling. i feel comfortable installing this turner cat-back one after reading the instructions. hopefully no surprises during install and everything fits like it should.....

I will say this, if your only looking for sound, a midpipe replacement would probably make you pretty darn happy. That said, its not much less for that, than this whole kit.

so is this strange routing potentially able to cause any unforeseen issues with the gasses exiting the exhaust? are these circles where the valves are at on this exhaust, and what about MPPSK?

also, isn't the stock exhaust similar in that one exit pipe sees a lot more action than the other? Looks like with the valve open this one side will see a lot more action and almost like a pretty straight shot out the back of the car...

look at my comparison pics above, this Turner exhaust looks to have less piping than the MPPSK
