Brake Discs and Pads for F31 335D

Hi guys,

It's time to get discs and pads changed on my 2014 F31 335D. I have M Sport brakes (blue calipers).

I'm not very familiar with area so any help would be highly appreciated

Having had a look on BMW for part numbers, I checked on Autodoc and have the following added to basket:

Could someone be so kind to just check this over for me? Are the qualities right?

Discs I've selected are the M Performance variants (vented, slotted/perforated), would there be an issue with fitting or with pads I've chosen? Should I stick to just the vented ones?

I'll get an indy to fit them, not sure what else to get changed like pins, sensors etc. I've had the car for 12 months and covered 15k.

Thank you

What on Earth have you been doing to require new brakes after 15000 miles?

As for paying someone to change them for you, changing disks and pads is a great start to doing car maintenance yourself, what you might spend on tools the first time around you'll immediately save on labour costs.

If you insist on changing them you might well need new sensors as well as these can often be difficult to remove from the old pads without damaging them.

Sorry, my statement is confusing, those are the miles I've covered since owning the car, it's done a load more by previous owner since last change.

I have considered this, I'd love to learn, just wish I had a drive or garage.

Also to add, if you ever had brake squeal, this will be a thing of the past with grooved discs

Just out of curiosity would these be the correct brakes for a 2017 340i with the M sport brakes?

Seem a lot cheaper than id expect!

Not had an issue with the normal discs.. I hope that to be true for grooved ones then

Just did a search and yes they seem to be the same.

I believe there was a glitch in my basket with my first screenshot where it added the 24% discount and didn't total the VAT or something?

Anyway, see updated prices below with 25% off.

Im not 100% sure mate as I havent shopped round yet, hopefully wont need to for a while! iDrive says pads have 33k miles left..

£465ish for pads/discs all round sounds decent to me though, especially as they are the bigger M Sport brakes.

Download their app, discount amount is always slightly higher on the app, just a couple of % but still helps if it's a big order.

Price is pretty good, best I've seen these fronts is just around £105. Rears are a good price, they were around £65 each then jumped way up to over £90 each for quite a while, so under £55 is a great price for the rear discs, not much more than the price of the pads.

Did you checkout as a company? It removes the VAT if you do, although not sure if you will be hit with VAT and customs upon delivery. I think the company is based in Germany.

Hey mate, no, I didn't checkout as a company and £63 VAT was charged according to the email confirmation.

Not looking forward to any customs charges
