2016 435i ZHP stats?

Does anybody know what the real numbers are for this car? It has the M performance tune, the intake, exhaust, etc. The car is "rated" at 35hp more than the standard 435i, but I don't believe manufacturer ratings.

I saw another thread with 1/4 mile times and some of the cars listed had very little done to it. A lot of them stated FBO. If I changed the charge pipe, would the ZHP be considered FBO due to all of the M performance parts on it? I'm just trying to understand what the current stats might be. Thanks

"Full bolt-on" (fbo) is just the term used to describe an upgraded downpipe, intercooler, and in this case a chargepipe too.

In terms of power figures, you'll be able to find a lot of real numbers throughout this forum. Just try the search function.

Look into MHD or Bm3 as a flash tune vs jb4. They're both user friendly and more reliable than jb4. Jb4 is kind of the old way of bumping up power - a few years old now.

Someone will probably chime in with some numbers though.

Thanks. I did search for numbers, but I haven't found much on the ZHP since only 100 were produced so I was hopeful that someone had some. I'm not sure if the extra 35hp that BMW advertised is the same gains seen by standard 435i cars with the same M performance parts thrown at them after purchase.

Gotcha.

Nonetheless, when you tune the car, it will be a completely different animal. Of course, definitely upgrade your chargepipe when you do this.

If you upgrade your downpipe, you can go to a stage 2 tune, which is a significant jump over a stage 1 tune.

Assuming ZHP is just MPPK (BMW flash tune) & M-Performance exhaust, you're looking at roughly 330HP & 380TQ. BMW claims 320HP, but they usually underestimate. Stock (no MPPK) is claimed to be 300.

Check out Dinan's website for information about stock numbers. They measure before and after installing their system, so you get a decent understanding of what the car really puts down.

With that said, no no no to the JB4 and yes to BM3 or MHD. The difference between MPPK and Stage 1 is unbelievable. Stage 2 is even better if you have decent gas.

Running Stage 2 & FBO, people are putting down 360 wheel horsepower (WHP). The numbers Dinan and BMW claim are crank HP, so can't be compared without adding drivetrain loss. So maybe 420 crank HP? Not sure. You could easily gain 60-80HP with Stage 1.

Don't do anything before replacing the chargepipe with a metal one. Very common point of failure, even stock.

So, if I do the BM3 and a new chargepipe, I should be pretty good. My son has a 700hp Mustang and I'm pretty satisfied with the BMW as it is. I was just wondering how much more can be had with simple changes. I'm not into full mods due to reliability concerns.
I have a 2014 435XI that has been FBO for about 15k miles, no issues besides regular maintenance that would have occurred without the modifications anyways. N55 is a good motor in terms of reliability. Like any engine, it has its issues, but the mods won't make those issues any more extreme than they would normally be. I also blew my stock charge pipe and upgraded to the VRSF catless one.

How do you have a catless charge pipe?

I have a cat-back exhaust and Dinan stage 2 piggyback tune install, nothing troublesome so far. But I occasionally experience heat soak and I noticed some oil in the charge pipe when I changed it at 25k miles. Perhaps OP can look into intercooler and oil catch can as well. Also, I heard the diverter valve can increase throttle response and hold boost longer.

I have a VRSF charge pipe but don't recommend it. It fits but can use better build quality. ER and CTS turbo are pretty good options. With Thanksgiving around the corner, CTS turbo should have a sale soon.

I thought 2016 was the 440i and not the 435?
