New Member saying Hi

I’ve been meaning to get around to signing-up on here and saying hello since June. I’m new to BMW as a brand and after a quick look around saw that this seems to be the friendliest and most comprehensive forum

Car is a 2016 Mineral Grey 435d MSport Gran Coupe XDrive which has covered 28,000 miles (5,000 of which I’ve stuck on over the last few months)

So far so good, I sense a few subtle mods will find their way into the car as I struggle to leave anything completely standard

Thanks MashinBenzin i held off buying until I found one that ticked all the boxes

Musts for me included:
Mineral Grey metallic paint
19” 442 diamond cut alloys
Harmon Kardon
MSport Blue brakes
Privacy Glass
M Sport trim
BLACK leather
Silver/Black dash
Under 30k miles

I also wanted one completely standard as I didn’t want to ‘un do’ someone else’s good intentions

Well spotted!

The car came with a single-slat gloss black grille which I thought looked well with the jet black sapphire front wing vents. I threw on some gloss black mirror caps to carry on this theme (eBay specials for now but may replace with coded jet black factory caps at a later date)

As many have discussed on here the car could benefit from some springs as the SE ride height on the XDrive isn't visually the best, especially on 19's. I'm undecided between Eibach Pro springs or ACS. The latter seem to sit quite low at the back which I'm not 100% sold on looks-wise

Other than that I would like to add an M Performance style rear diffuser which I intend to leave matt black. Some side skirt extensions and a front splitter (preferably something a little less cumbersome than the M Performance splitter) a gloss black rear spoiler and maybe some black exhaust tips? Again undecided on this

It's a daily driver so no need to go crazy with the suspension setup

Hi mate and welcome
Nice car
I've only been here a short time myself but I've learned a lot from this form....... Mostly that there always seems to be a difference of opinion on most things... Nah seriously though.... There's a lot of helpful guys on here with some good advice and a lot of knowledge.
I'm just getting started on some mods of my own too and even managed to pick up a few bits I've needed from forum members

No remap/tuning box for me. The car is 100bhp more than anything I’ve previously owned so I’m happy with the performance side of things

I would be interested to hear people’s opinions or experiences on Eibach Pro/ACS Springs though along with trusted fitters around the North West? I don’t plan to use spacers and would be keeping the factory dampers

The car is without the adaptive suspension if that affects replies

Most have ACS quite a few have h&r (which are a bit lower all round... You will find most will recommend spacers tho... They improve the look no end.

I'm not sure there's actually an SE ride height on the 4 series. I was wondering about this as I'm not a fan of the M Sport suspension on the bumpy roads around here so I was looking at the M Sport suspension delete option. I was asking the dealer about the effect on ride height and they were adamant there's no difference - I didn't believe them so I went out and measured the ride heights on the cars in the used car lot. Sure enough the Sport and M Sport models ride at the same hight and it's only the X drive cars that were higher. I don't know why this difference exists but there must be a reason; I assume X drive needs a different geometry and lowering the ride height would compromise something.
