E92 brake upgrade
Bit of a long shot - has anyone here fitted bigger brakes on an E9X? Car has 18" wheels. Schnitzer brakes are NLA and it's not worth buying a premium brand like Brembo or AP for a car that old.

What's currently on the car ?
If it already has MSport brakes (a.k.a 'blue' brakes) you may find that stainless braided lines, decent fluid, and performance pads can give you what you're looking for.

What's the reason for the upgrade ? Is the car going to be used for track sessions, or just normal/spirited road driving ?

Just road driving as far as I know. Doesn't need to be over the top, just a nice looking upgrade from what he has now.

Easy way to improve at a rather low cost.

Does he want a 'nice looking' upgrade, or an actual performance upgrade ? Not all BMW OEM brakes/upgrades are worth having from a performance perspective.

Hmm not sure.
Think there are several threads here in the E9x forums about it. As I recall you need to change the hubs at the rear. And depending on year they have different size parking brake. Might involve changing brake master cylinder also to prevent a spongy brake pedal. It can be done but not plug and play.

If he's not looking for a performance upgrade then in his shoes I'd save my money, unless bar room bragging rights are important.
If the fronts are a simple bolt-on swap using OEM parts, that'd be fine. The rears can work well, even on track, with decent pads. Maybe just do a DIY job and paint the calipers or, if the car can be left off the road for a couple of weeks, get them professionally refurbed and painted ?
