So I just got everything hooked up with the Ethernet cable - all connections were tight but for whatever reason I often received a message that it couldn't connect...essentially after just spamming the connect button it would finally connect.

I love the app and it was really simple to adjust some things but yes there are tons of options.

I'm curious what changes users have made that they recommend since some of the stuff was lost on me.

My only issue I need assistance with, however, was a German message which appeared overtop the M340i dash message I set up. I have no idea how to make the word go away without removing the M340i logo which I rather enjoy.

Edited to add: searches show this issue is common...it seems fixes are basically to reset and not have it or to have the instrument cluster updated according to posts on forums. Of this latter suggestion it seems like there is no confirmation it allowed the emblem to still work. So I may just have to go without. In for further more recent info if people have it tho

Changes I made:

Side mirrors fold up and down on lock/unlock (sort of worried long term for the motors with the excessive use but idk)

Video in motion

M logo in instrument cluster and M animation Screen at start up

M340i displaying in gauge cluster (again with the German word overlayed)

Driver and passenger front seatbelt audible alert deactivate

Added tire temperature to the tire pressure info

Changed the tilt to 50% on the passenger mirror when using the reverse feature to tilt the mirror

Took away the messages at start up

Changed lighting to Red in sport mode

*I'll edit as I recall the others - also using Ethernet cable and adapter to do this through my IPhone fwiw

I can offer no assistance other than to tell you that "Platzhalter" means "Placeholder".

I saw that in my search too. I just opted to have that display removed. Would have been nice but none of the trouble shooting worked that I had access to.

I'm using the Bluetooth obd2 adapter way more solid connection and faster in my opinion. I have some of the stuff you have coded but in addition I also disabled the fog cornering lights and disabled us side markers. I also changed the chime to BMW i

I will be coding sport transmission and launch control soon I just haven't had time.

Sorry don't have any help for the German thing.

I didn't see any info for launch control and my car already has sport+ mode so I didn't really see much I could do with that. I saw the option to add sport+ to cars without that feature.

It's not sports + mode
It's sports transmission, which is the manual shifting when you put the gear in manual would be sporty (it'll have the S1,S2,etc) you need to have that enabled to be able to do launch control, also launch control is under advanced tab.
Watch this video by thicf30 he explains it and shows how to do it:

Interesting, mine already does that from factory coding (sport/manual mode thing)

Yes the way to use launch control is:
1. You have to drive the car for at least 6 miles and make sure it's warmed up
2. Put the car in sports + mode and move the shifter to the left so you see S1 in the dash
3. You press and hold the brakes allllll the way down then press the gas all the way down
4. The car will rev itself appropriately and You should see a flag pop up in the instrument cluster saying launch control
5. Once you see the flag let go of the brakes and the car will do the rest

....
So complex, I wish it would say it is ready for launch control. Rather than going through the steps hoping it will work and it doesn't when the rear tires go up in smoke.

Any other features people used? There were several that I had no idea what they did - angel eyes, for example.

It sounds pretty straight forward but to clarify with this "Enable door handle lights in reverse" do you find the light actually assists in reversing visibility at night or do you have that feature because it looks good? Haven't played with that one

It adds enough light to help visibility next to the car if you're backing into a tight space. I find it useful when backing into our garage while dodging trash cans, telephone poles, etc. in our alley.

by default the angle eyes as day time running lamps will be at their full brightness. When you turn on your headlights, they dim. You can set how bright you want them to be with headlights.

Recently got a 2013 328i sportline, with lowered m sport suspension. Already had sport+ mode but here's what I did with the bimmercode app.

Added sport transmission (now it says S1 when shifter is pulled left not DS)
Raised xenon brightness
Made xenon always on/daytime light
Removed idrive warnings
Side mirrors auto in/out with lock/unlock
Digital speedometer in dash
Seatbelts reminder off
Tire temp° on
Trip averages "never" reset
Passenger mirror at 50% tilt when reversing (was 70%)
Windows/sunroof open/close with key fob
Sport displays on (I dont think it works on my car)
Auto start/stop ALWAYS OFF

I think that's it. There may be a couple more but that's what I can remember. So far no issues and the sport transmission is great
