I've read that, even though BMW calls them lifetime fluids. I assume 60k is under regular driving and not people that go to track days.
60k was a "severe service" interval. ZF has moved it to 100k miles.
Haven't seen that, but I may have over looked. I have read 80,000km-120,000 km depending on driving style. That would be 50-75k miles, so I guess they averaged it at 60k? Do you recall when they changed it or where are you read that?
FYI- on this subject numbers often get misquoted because ZF says 60k miles or 100k kilometers. Guys often see 100k and assume it's miles.

Apparently they changed to 150000km or 93k miles per ZF

Arrow Transmission service

Hey y'all, has anyone gotten their transmission fluid changed by a dealer/independent mechanic that they trust? I don't have the space and tools necessary to do it myself and I don't want to pay an outrageous price to have it done either. (2015 320Xi 95k miles)

It is my understanding that some ATMs were considered "remove and replace" components at failure so the issue with the fluid change is it could lead service providers liable if there were shifting issues or failures after the change. So, they opted to just not touch the fluid at all until there was a total failure.

Hence, DIY guys change it. DIFM guys just run it to term.

This is true, but people do have shops do it. Rarely, people have the dealer do it as well. The dealer should be capable, since if there was an issue with the pan or something it would constitute the same exact procedure - pan replacement and fluid refill.

The key thing is making sure they can follow ISTA procedures, specifically related to fill procedures and gearbox temps.
