Anyone on Upgraded Trans Mounts?
Obviously for us 3 pedal folks...
Anyone running poly (or solid) trans mounts on stock engine mounts? Im worried if I dont upgrade the engine mounts also the stiffer trans mounts will fail sooner. I know this was an E30 problem but making things fully poly on a rust box E30 made more sense than this nicer DD now. Also how was the NVH afterwards? I want to upgrade because Im starting to miss gear gates when the car weight transitions in autocross/canyon runs etc.

I'm actually 8AT .. but was just looking for the same .. found some solid metal from the UK I think but went with OEM to replace.. I had Delrin solid in the diff and changed them out for super pro .. as the NVH was pretty noticeable.. so I would imagine solid on the tranny would be loud too.. though I ran solid metal back in the day on my M3 E36.. Let us know what you find ..!

I would say go with the 70A durometer poly mounts. These worked well on my E36 M3. I think 80A or solid would just be way too harsh for anything other than a dedicated track car.

Jared, did you upgrade motor mounts too on your E36 or was it only trans? If so how long did the trans mount last? Quote:

Just trans mounts as the stock mounts were pretty worn and there were all these horror stories of money shifts due to tranny moving durning high G maneuvers. They lasted until I wrecked the car (RIP Emmy), about a yr. If you go with 70A poly mounts please post a review here. This is something I would consider doing as my plan for this car is to be a track rat after I pick up another DD.

I just bought CONDOR speed shop trans mount/ solids since 1x I had issue on saturday on upshift on the new shifter I got. Ill post pics when they come in etc and installed.
