BMW 320d B47 whistle noise
Hi
I am new here wanted to ask if anyone would know a issue I have. I bought a 320d 2017 with a B47 engine. At 2k rpm I hear this whistle noise. It only happens when you are driving. When stationary in parked you do not hear it. I checked the pipes and didnt notice any damage. Does anyone know experianced any thing like this? |

You may have to pressurize the intake tract to make sure it's not leaking anywhere. Usually a smoke test is good for this.
Often seals at pipe ends can leak or become loose.

I have a 2016-03 420d (B47) F36 car.
Mine makes a whistle noise too, only when I'm on the gas, If I take the foot of the gas pedal, the noise stops. The pitch of the noise changes depending on speed and not rpm, if I change gear, the pitch stays the same... I had a F11 520d (N47) before. I didn't noticed a whistle noise on that car. I don't know of anyone near Aveiro - Portugal that has the same engine to compare. |
